Relay for Life June 26-27

This year’s 24-hour Relay for Life of Arcadia will begin with a dedication during the opening ceremonies at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 26, to two of Arcadia’s firefighters who had to retire because they are currently battling cancer — Captain Andy Troncale and Firefighter/paramedic Gerry Martin, according to event chairman Carter Spruill.

Relay for Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated, will be held once again on the infield of the Santa Anita Park racetrack June 26th-27th starting at 11 a.m.

The following video is a 3 1/2-minute emotion-charged compilation of last year’s event that featured Jaz V (young female singer Jasmine Villegas) and a special Luminaria nighttime walk along a path lined with candles.
