Community Craft Fair On Saturday, October 24, 300 individuals attended the Annual Community Craft Fair. Handmade art, crafts, and seasonal items were available for purchase. The event included live music by guitarist Mina Boktar and raffle drawings for prizes made by the crafters.

On Thursday, October 8, 52 individuals enjoyed the annual Cultural Day Camp excursion. This year highlighted the culture of Italy. Participants started the day at the Community Center with goodie bags and Italian breakfast treats from Claro’s Italian Market. Participants then traveled to the Italian American Museum of Los Angeles for a guided tour, followed by lunch at Andre’s Italian Restaurant. On Friday, October 2, the Recreation and Community Services Department hosted the annual Father Daughter Dance with 139 participants in attendance. For this year’s Stars of the Red-Carpet theme, participants came dressed in Oscar worthy attire, including suites, tiaras, and stunning dresses. On Saturday, September 26, the City of Arcadia held the annual Moon Festival at City Hall Lawn. Over 2,000 people celebrated under the mid-autumn moon, gathering with friends and family. We received approval from Metro this week to install the 100-Year Anniversary decal on the Route 66 Bridge in Arcadia. On November 11, 2026, Route 66 will officially be 100 years, and a celebratory decal was designed by City staff to celebrate this historic roadway. Installation is planned before the 100-year anniversary and will remain in place for approximately one year. On Friday, September 11, 153 individuals gathered for the annual Western Hoedown. Instructor Pam Wagoner emceed the night filling the room with energy and fun. The City has received a Temporary Use Permit (TUP) application for the return of Enchant Christmas at Santa Anita Park for the 2026 holiday season. This year’s event will be similar to the 2025 event, with modifications to attendance, attractions, hours, parking, and operations. The event is proposed from November 18, 2026, through January 3, 2027. This year, the maximum daily attendance will be reduced from 19,500 to 16,000 attendees. West Nile Virus Detection: The San Gabriel Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District (SGV Mosquito) confirmed its first detection of West Nile Virus in the city of Arcadia this year. The sample was collected on 8/18/2026 from a trap site near Baldwin Stocker Park. WNV is transmitted to people and animals through the bite of an infected mosquito. There is no cure for WNV. This was after several focus groups and community meetings since May designed to ensure that the neighbors and those most affected would have time to provide input and get their questions answered. The annual free HHW drive-thru collection event hosted by Los Angeles County will be held on August 1, 9AM to 3PM, at Santa Anita Park, near Gate 3 (the main entrance on Huntington Dr.).
