Chinese history of L.A./SGV

Gene Moy of the Chinese Historical Society of Southern California will be the featured speaker and Arcadia High School senior Emily Zheng will provide flute music at the Arcadia Historical Society‘s General Meeting and Program at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29. Light refreshments will be provided.

The program — “Chinese History of Los Angeles and San Gabriel Valley,” in celebration of the Chinese New Year (Year of the Sheep) — will be held once again at the historic Price Erik’s Hall behind the Arcadia Congregational Church at 2607 S. Santa Anita Ave., Arcadia. A room at Prince Erik’s Hall now serves as the Society’s new headquarters office. Moy will discuss the long history of Chinese immigration and culture in California.
