AHS grad digital art tutorial

Former Arcadia High School graduate (2002) Lisa Liang has enjoyed a growing career working in film and video game digital design.

The daughter of former Arcadia Chinese Association President Joanna Liang has her name in the end credits as a digital artist on major motion pictures such as “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” and “Evan Almighty” and worked on Call of Duty for Activision as well as Star Trek Online and Neverewinter Online for Cryptic Studios.

She has worked for Star Wars creator George Lucas’s Lucasfilm and ILM (Industrial Light and Magic), living at the Lucasfilm headquarters in the converted former military facility at the Presidio in San Francisco. She is now Senior Concept Artist at mobile game company ZQ Game in El Segundo, the U.S. branch of the 12 year-old company based in Shenzhen, China. The company has published titles such as card battle-strategy RPG, Pocket Knights, action RPG, Soul Guardians: Age of Midgard and fantasy RPG Brave Brigade.

Lisa recently contributed an online video tutorial for Digital Tutors/ Pluralsight called “Conceptualizing Environments from the Imagination,” that she has generously shared with Arcadia’s Best readers. Check out the intro at the link above and sign-up to see the full 12-part lesson.
