Retired Teachers to Hear “Where You Live Matters” Presentation


 Sandee Hayden of Hillcrest Retirement Community in La Verne will bring her message of “Where You Live Matters” to members of CalRTA #71-SGV (California Retired Teachers’ Association)

when she speaks at their kick-off meeting. Her presentation will guide her audience through the resources necessary to have in place when “making decisions about aging in place, living in a community, transportation options, caregiver support, and more.” Her advice is that what you cannot control, you should plan for!

Sandee Hayden has over 15 years of experience in service to seniors and their families. As a community volunteer, she has served as director of RSVP Volunteer Program and is director of award-winning Community Connections Volunteer Driver program which serves the transportation needs of the disabled and senior residents in 16 local cities in Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties.

The California Retired Teachers’ Association #71- SGV (Retired Teachers) will hold its luncheon meeting on Friday, October13, at 11:30 a.m. at the Senior Center Building in Arcadia Park (county park), 405 West Santa Anita Ave., Arcadia, next to the Lawn Bowling Greens. Guests are welcome to come enjoy the luncheon and to hear Ms. Hayden’s presentation. Also, on the program, the Government Relations Committee will bring members up to date on legislative news from Sacramento that affects retired teachers. The School Grant Committee will give a report on their latest efforts to help current classroom teachers with classroom needs. The cost of the luncheon for members and guests is $12.
