ELARA DISCUSSIONS RETURNING

Around this time last year, there was much heated discussion regarding the proposed Elara housing project in the County unincorporated area at 4217 E. Live Oak Ave. We have learned this week that another round of discussions is taking place as the development is changing somewhat. Instead of being partially dedicated to the previously homeless, the project would now be fully dedicated to permanent supportive housing for the formerly homeless and the funding for the project is also changing to require more County funds. The project is also being retitled to “Oak & Ivy” . Affirmed Housing, the project’s proponent, will hold a briefing at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 18 at the Community Meeting Room in Arcadia County Park (405 S. Santa Anita Ave.). As a reminder, the City has no approval authority in this development; we do have a webpage dedicated to the Elara project, which we will update with this latest information so interested residents can stay informed.
