Senior Lunch Program
The senior lunch program operates Monday through Friday from 11:30am - 12:15pm and
offers those 55 years or older a meal for $3. During the week of December 1, 208 meals were
served. On Thursday, December 4, seniors celebrated National Sock Day.
Monday Dance
On Monday December 1, 100 seniors attended Monday Dance's performance by Nightlife.
Monday Dance is a popular program offered the first, third, and fifth Monday from 1:30-
3:30pm for only $3 per person.
Fit & Talk – Chair Zumba
On Thursday, November 20, eight seniors participated in our weekly Fit & Talk program. Each
session brings something new to keep everyone active and engaged. This week, participants
enjoyed a fun, energetic chair Zumba routine.
Afterschool Program

For the week of December 1, the Afterschool Program served 1,359 participants. This week, Activity Leaders implemented activities from our created lesson plans which included an organized schedule of study hall, crafts, group games, and free play. The Afterschool Program is free and
available to K-5 students at all elementary schools in the AUSD.
Tree Lighting Ceremony
On Thursday, December 4, approximately 225 people attended the

Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Arcadia Transit Plaza. The guest of
honor, Santa, helped light the holiday tree while attendees enjoyed crafts, hot chocolate, and a reading of Night Before Christmas from Santa. As a special treat this year, attendees were treated to “falling snow”, made of bubble foam.
Breakfast with Santa
On Saturday, December 6, 330 individuals attended the sold-out, Breakfast with Santa event.
Participants were divided between the 8:30am and 10:30am seating and enjoyed crafts,
games, a hot chocolate bar, cookie bar, and a photo opportunity with Santa.

Snow Festival
On Saturday, December 6, approximately 1,000 people attended the free Snow Festival event
at the Arcadia Community Center. Guests enjoyed snow sledding, face painting, games,
crafts, jumpers, and more.

LA28 Spreads Holiday Cheer at the Snowfest
Nearly 800 children received a brand-new pair of Nike shoes during the Snow Festival! The
free shoes were a huge hit, and the Snowfest was the perfect place to share the spirit of the
season with the Arcadia community. Thank you to LA28 and Nike for their generous
donation, and to the Arcadia Parks Foundation for accepting it on behalf of the City of
Arcadia.
