Community Craft Fair On Saturday, October 24, 300 individuals attended the Annual Community Craft Fair. Handmade art, crafts, and seasonal items were available for purchase. The event included live music by guitarist Mina Boktar and raffle drawings for prizes made by the crafters.

Fit & Talk - On Thursday, October 22, 25 seniors participated in the weekly Fit & Talk program, a mix of movement, fun, and social connection. This week participants followed a Halloween themed 30-minute seated Zumba video.

50+ Karaoke featured by California Parks & Recreation Society Arcadia’s Recreation and Community Services Department received statewide recognition when its 50+ Karaoke Program was selected for a feature on the California Parks & Recreation Society’s social media! On Thursday, October 15, 29 seniors enjoyed a special culinary excursion to Din Tai Fung as part of the monthly Taste the Town program. This program invites guests to experience some of Arcadia’s vibrant local dining. Thanks to the team’s efforts in securing a highly sought-after reservation, participants got to sample six of the restaurants’ most popular dishes.

On Thursday, October 8, 52 individuals enjoyed the annual Cultural Day Camp excursion. This year highlighted the culture of Italy. Participants started the day at the Community Center with goodie bags and Italian breakfast treats from Claro’s Italian Market. Participants then traveled to the Italian American Museum of Los Angeles for a guided tour, followed by lunch at Andre’s Italian Restaurant. On Friday, October 2, the Recreation and Community Services Department hosted the annual Father Daughter Dance with 139 participants in attendance. For this year’s Stars of the Red-Carpet theme, participants came dressed in Oscar worthy attire, including suites, tiaras, and stunning dresses. On Friday, September 11, 153 individuals gathered for the annual Western Hoedown. Instructor Pam Wagoner emceed the night filling the room with energy and fun. Pam called the line dances while giving instruction to those still learning moves. Guests enjoyed a western themed meal and dessert. A great time was had by all.

Arcadia The Senior Lunch Program operates Monday-Friday from 11:30am-12:15pm and offers those 55 years or older a meal for $3. During the week of August 31, 431 meals were served.

The City has received a Temporary Use Permit (TUP) application for the return of Enchant Christmas at Santa Anita Park for the 2026 holiday season. This year’s event will be similar to the 2025 event, with modifications to attendance, attractions, hours, parking, and operations. The event is proposed from November 18, 2026, through January 3, 2027. This year, the maximum daily attendance will be reduced from 19,500 to 16,000 attendees. This past week, the City and several Council Members received emails from five concerned residents over AYSO's allocation of the Civic Center Field. This allocation period, AYSO was allocated one less hour per week to accommodate another user that traditionally has used the field at the High School. On Thursday, June 25, the Recreation and Community Services Department kicked off summer with the first Concert & Movie in the Park. Cold Duck performed 70’s hits while 700 attendees danced on the new spacious dance floor. At dusk, 250 people watched Charlotte’s Web. On July 2, Cobra Cowboys will perform and the movie Miracle will be shown.

ARCADIA, CA - The City of Arcadia proudly announces the 2026 free Summer Concerts & Movies in the Park every Thursday from June 25 through July 30, 2026. Concerts will begin at 6:30pm and movies at dusk. Kids can enjoy the fun zone area with plenty of games, crafts, and activities. The events will be held at City Hall Lawn located at 240 West Huntington Drive between City Hall and the Police Department. Free parking will be available at City Hall and Santa Anita Park, Gate 5.

Fun n Play, a summer camp program for children 5-12 years old, kicked off their “Welcome Week” on June 8, with 800 participants. This week, participants enjoyed outdoor games, made crafts, and participated in themed dress up days. Participants also enjoyed an interactive live magic show and finished the week with water play activities.

As part of America’s 250th month-long calendar of activities, seniors participated in the 50+ All-American Table Tennis Tournament on Friday, June 5. This double elimination tournament allowed for participants to compete against other in fast paced games of Table Tennis. Mary Tour was the winner of the Women's Bracket while Ban Hoang was the winner of the Men's Bracket. The winners received prizes, medals, and bragging rights!

On Thursday and Friday, February 19 and 20, a total of 31 seniors had their taxes prepared free of charge thanks to our dedicated AARP volunteers. Tax preparation services are available by appointment every Thursday and Friday from 9am-12pm. To qualify, participants must be 50 years or older and meet low-income guidelines.
