Foothill Unity Center’s 11th annual Back-to-School distribution event provided everything from school backpacks, uniforms, and supplies to underwear, socks, and even haircuts and manicures to about 2,000 qualified low-income children at Santa Anita Park last Thursday, Aug. 20.
The annual event helps children in need get ready for that very important first day of school and sets the stage for a successful school year.

As a community organization, Foothill Unity Center receives support from many local churches, businesses, individuals and foundations. Approximately 40% of FUCI’s funds come from the government (county, state and federal). The Foothill Unity Center Auxiliary and fund-raisers provide the balance of funding. Over 90% of each dollar goes to our programs helping the underserved, leaving less than 10% for administration. Truly, the Foothill Unity Center is a community effort.

FUCI welcomes donations by check or credit card. There are many other ways to help! A gift of appreciated securities can offer you tax savings.
