Traffic Collision

Shortly after 1 PM, on Friday October 7, 2016, Arcadia Police Officers were dispatched to a solo-vehicle traffic collision in the 1000 block of Alta Vista Avenue. The 69-year-old driver of a sport utility vehicle had stopped in a residential driveway. A 45-year-old man and a 31-year-old man were loading items into the back of the vehicle. The driver lost control, and backed into both people standing behind the vehicle. One of the pedestrians was trapped between the vehicle and a tree, which significantly injured his legs. The other pedestrian had some minor injuries. Both pedestrians were transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

The driver remained at the scene of the collision, and he cooperated with the investigators. The driver was not arrested or issued a traffic citation.
