For the period of Sunday, November 30th through Saturday, December 6th, the Police Department responded to 969 calls for service, of which 111 required formal
investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, November 30:
At approximately 11:35 a.m., an officer responded to Church of the Latter-Day Saints,
located at 150 West Duarte Road regarding a trespassing incident. A church staff
member asked the 40-year-old male from El Monte to leave and he refused. He had
trespassed on previous occasions. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia
City Jail for booking.
Monday, December 1:
At approximately 1:54 a.m., an officer responded to 24 Hour Fitness, located at 125
North First Avenue, regarding a man threatening another gym patron with a knife.
Officers located the suspect and determined he was the named suspect in another
incident involving a knife. The 38-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and
transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Tuesday, December 2:
At approximately 12:36 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2500 block
of Doolittle Avenue regarding a fraud investigation. The officer discovered someone
gained access to the victim’s bank account using his check information to steal
money.
Wednesday, December 3:
At approximately 12:29 p.m., an officer responded to Kaylan LLC, located at 5435
Peck Road, regarding a commercial burglary report. An investigation revealed
unknown suspects forced through the front door and stole electronic components.
The suspect was described as a White or Hispanic male, approximately 5’10”, and
between 45 and 50-years-old. The investigation is ongoing.
Thursday, December 4:
At approximately 8:53 p.m., an officer responded to Chevron, located at 102 East
Huntington Drive, regarding a suspect harassing a woman pumping gas. When the
officer arrived, they discovered the suspect had vandalized the hood of the victim’s
car. The 57-year-old male transient from Arcadia was arrested and transported to
the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Friday, December 5:
At approximately 3:02 p.m., an officer responded to JCPenney, located at 400 South
Baldwin Avenue, regarding a petty theft report. An investigation revealed a male
suspect was seen concealing merchandise in a bag and exiting the store, failing to pay
for the items. When confronted by Loss Prevention outside of the store, the suspect
dropped the property and fled. He was described as a Hispanic male with short brown
hair, highlights, and a medium build.
Saturday, December 6:
At approximately 8:06 p.m., an officer responded to JCPenney, located at 400 South
Baldwin Avenue, regarding a theft incident. The officer discovered a 16-year-old male
from Los Angeles stole clothing. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City
Jail for booking. He was later released to his relative.
