Sunday, December 4th
At 1:19 a.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 2300 block of Ivyland Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a 42-year-old male feeling weak and dizzy and in mild distress. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures at the scene including oxygen therapy, 12-lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and blood glucose monitoring. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Monday, December 5th
At 12:43 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical call in the 300 block of Campus Drive. Fire crews arrived to find a 46-year-old female feeling weak and dizzy. Paramedics performed advanced life support measures on scene including cardiac monitoring, glucose level monitoring, and intravenous drug therapy. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Tuesday, December 6th
At 11:09 p.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical call in the 100 block of Elkins Place. Fire crews arrived to find an elderly male experiencing a syncopal episode. Paramedics assessed the patient and performed advanced life support measures on scene including cardiac monitoring, glucose level monitoring, and intravenous drug therapy. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Wednesday, December 7th
At 7:51 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of South Baldwin Avenue and Arcadia Avenue. Fire crews arrived to find a three vehicle traffic collision with a 68-year-old male complaining of neck pain. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including cardiac monitoring, glucose level monitoring, intravenous drug therapy, and spinal immobilization. The patient was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
Thursday, December 8th
At 8:28 p.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 1800 block of North Stonehouse Road. Fire crews arrived to find a 62-year-old male complaining of chest pain. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including intravenous access, 12-lead electrocardiogram, administration of cardiac medication, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Friday, December 9th
At 5:51 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical call in the 500 block of Fairview Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a 22-year-old female experiencing general nausea. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures at the scene including cardiac monitoring, glucose level monitoring, and intravenous drug therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.
Saturday, December 10th
At 12:48 p.m., Truck 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist at the intersection of California Street and South Second Avenue. Bystanders flagged down passing fire units who found a 54-year-old male, collapsed in a front yard, in full cardiac arrest. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including CPR, intravenous access, 12-lead electrocardiogram, defibrillation, administration of cardiac medication, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Volunteer Activity
During the reporting period, the Arcadia Fire Department had a total of 100 hours of volunteer services. Specifically, volunteers from the community donated their time to assist the Department with administrative, fire prevention, and miscellaneous duties.
