Arcadia Community Center just had another successful Taste of Town at Chang’s Garden on Sep 11th.

30 seniors attended this event; everyone enjoyed this Monthly outing with friends, also got their taste buds satisfied at the same time.

People asked how was Taste of Town started?

The Taste of Town was initiated by Mayor Sho Tay two years ago; he had a vision to introduce diverse Cuisines in Arcadia to our seniors; through sampling various ethnic meals, it could promote understanding of different cultures and bring people closer together.  Mayor Sho Tay shared his “Breaking Bread “ idea with City Manager Dominic and Sara, Director of Park and Recreation; a Test Run was started, and the result was overwhelmingly positive. Ever since, the Taste Of Town has became a very popular Event for Community Center.

To handle the logistics with each restaurant, Mayor Tay invited Jamie Lee, who is the current President of Arcadia Chinese Association (ACA) to participate in this event since beginning;  Jamie has been doing a great job on negotiating affordable meal prices and menu for seniors, everyone witnessed and benefited from her tremendous support in this well organized community event.
