Rodney King stopped in Arcadia

A day before the 20th anniversary of Rodney King‘s infamous arrest and beatings by police which led to riots in Los Angeles, the current Rialto resident was stopped by police in Arcadia and cited for driving with an expired license.

When contacted by ArcadiasBest.com as King was being stopped late Wednesday afternoon, Arcadia police confirmed that they had stopped King on Santa Anita Avenue near the 210 freeway following a call about his car being driven erratically.

Police identified the driver as the same 45-year-old Rodney King involved in the beating 20 years ago. There was no evidence of alcohol or drugs but his drivers license was expired so he was “issued a citation and sent on his way,” a spokesman said.

There was no information as to why King was in Arcadia but locals say he has been spending time in Pasadena lately.
