Seattle born bassist Ryan Cross was mentored during high school by bass legend Ray Brown and then studied with John Clayton at USC.

One of today’s top artists, he has both appeared in and recorded on scores for film and television inclduing Friends, One on One, West Wing, JAG, Starsky and Hutch, Along Came Polly, and The Big Time with Stanley Clark. A successful composer as well, Ryan scored the Showtime movie “Crossover,” executive produced by Magic Johnson and Penny Marshall.

He also has written and arranged for Greg Porée’s (Dancing With The Stars) new album Vertical Motion.

Cross performs on cello, acoustic bass and electric bass. His talents have enabled him to collaborate with major artists including Billy Higgins, Jeff Goldblum, Peter Weller, Phil Ranelin, Spanky Wilson, James Tormé, Ralph Moore and Red Holloway. As a member of the “Kids Cotton Club” band, founded by Danny Masterson of That 70’s Show, Cross has played with such artists as John Mayer, Macy Gray, Mystic, and Fergie from The Black Eyed Peas. He appears with Macy Gray for the “Desperate Housewives: Music Inspired By” CD.

Other of his ensembles include Cross/Hart, the Ryan Cross Experience and Elevation Orchestra.
