This week, the LA28 organizers held 3 days of meetings with various City staff members and

representatives from Santa Anita Park to discuss initial planning for the Olympics. City Manager spent all day Tuesday with the teams and other executives spent significant time learning more about the concepts for Santa Anita Park. They are committed to the overall concept of these being a “transit first” event. Specifically, they expect that no parking will be allowed for ticket holders on the Santa Anita site. Rather, ticket holders will arrive via the A Line, Metro Buses, and Park and Ride buses that will stage in places such as Pasadena, Pomona, and Downtown LA. It was a good start to the planning and there are MANY MANY details to work out, but it’s nice to see that the organizers are coordinating with all key stakeholders at this point. Meanwhile, the SGVCOG also convened its subcommittee this week and discussed many of the same topics (traffic, security, watch parties, etc.).
