Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - period of Sunday, May 10th through Saturday, May 16th

For the period of Sunday, May 10th through Saturday, May 16th, the Police Department responded to 947 calls for service, of which 101 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled

by the Department during this period.


Sunday, May 10:

At approximately 1:16 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of

South Baldwin Avenue regarding an assault investigation. The officer discovered the

victim’s ex-boyfriend pushed her and threatened her with a knife. The 31-year-old

male from Arcadia was gone before officers arrived.


Monday, May 11:

At approximately 12:23 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of

West Naomi Avenue regarding a family disturbance. The officers determined a male

suspect discharged a firearm in the presence of his family. He fled the scene but was

later arrested. The 44-year-old Arcadia resident was charged with various felony

charges.


Tuesday, May 12:

At approximately 2:10 p.m., an officer responded to JCPenney, located at 400 South

Baldwin Avenue, regarding a petty theft report. A review of the surveillance footage

revealed two suspects stole various items before Loss Prevention detained one of

the suspects. A 23-year-old female from Los Angeles was arrested and transported

to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. A records check revealed she had five outstanding

warrants. The second suspect, who fled the scene, was identified as a 28-year-old

male from Honolulu, HI.


Wednesday, May 13:

At approximately 9:54 a.m., an officer responded to a parking lot at The Shops at

Santa Anita, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a robbery investigation.

The victim stated he was napping in his car when the suspect opened the door and

robbed him. The suspect fled with cash and credit cards and is described as a Black

male, medium build, approximately 5’8”, seen wearing a black shirt, black pants and

driving a black Nissan sedan.


Thursday, May 14:

At approximately 5:30 p.m., an officer responded to 24 Hour Fitness, located at 125

North First Avenue, regarding a vehicle burglary report. Sometime between 3:00 p.m.

and 4:15 p.m. on May 14th, someone burglarized the victim’s vehicle and fled with the

victim’s wallet and credit cards. The unidentified suspect then used a stolen credit

card to make fraudulent purchases. The investigation is pending a review of the

available surveillance footage.


Friday, May 15:

At approximately 1:40 p.m., an officer responded to the front counter of the Arcadia

Police Department regarding a battery that occurred at 24 Hour Fitness, located at 125

North First Avenue, on May 12th. The officer discovered an altercation between two

juveniles resulted in one of them sustaining a head injury.


Saturday, May 16:

At approximately 4:39 p.m., an officer responded to The Shops at Santa Anita, located

at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a female juvenile under the influence of

alcohol. Arcadia Fire responded and transported the female to USC Arcadia Hospital

for treatment. An investigation revealed a 17-year-old male from Sierra Madre

provided alcohol to the female. He and his parent were issued citations.
