Man dies in car wreck near golf course

The Arcadia Police Department reported Sunday (July 20, 2014) that a 24 year-old resident of Porter Ranch died in a car wreck early Sunday morning (Saturday night) near the Santa Anita Golf Course.
According to a police report, at approximately 0231 hours Sunday, a solo vehicle traffic collision occurred in the area of Santa Anita Avenue and Campus Drive. The driver of the vehicle, a 24 year old male resident of Porter Ranch, was found unconscious at the scene. The first responders began immediate life-saving measures and transported him to the hospital. The driver was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at the hospital.
A passenger in the vehicle was not injured in the collision. It is unknown at this time if alcohol was a factor, and the name of the driver is being held pending notification of his family. Members of the Major Accident Investigation Team are currently conducting their investigation into the cause.
