The following is a report issued this Saturday afternoon by police:
On October 2, 2015, at approximately 9:40 p.m., Arcadia Police responded to the 200 block of East Huntington Drive on the report of an attempted robbery. Three women were walking on the sidewalk when they were approached by two suspects who immediately grabbed their purses to steal them. A struggle ensued and the victims were able to maintain control of their purses despite one victim being punched in the back of the head and all three victims being pushed to the ground. The suspects fled in an awaiting vehicle. The victim’s injuries did not need medical attention.
The suspects were described as male Hispanics or Indians, approximately 30-years of age, short dark hair, thin build and wearing dark clothing. The suspect vehicle was described as an older model 4-door sedan (case 15-4907).
Approximately ten minutes later, Arcadia Police responded to the area of Sunset Boulevard and Arcadia Avenue regarding a robbery. Officers learned that a female victim was walking in the area and was pushed to the ground by two suspects who stole her handbag and fled in an awaiting vehicle.
The suspects were described as male Hispanics, approximately 18-years old, 5’6” and 125 pounds and short black wavy hair. The suspect vehicle was described as a black 4-door vehicle with tinted windows (case 15-4908).
Based on the initial investigation it appears that these two incidents may have been committed by the same suspects.
The Arcadia Police Department will be deploying extra officers in these areas in an attempt to prevent future incidents and/or to locate and identify the suspects in these two cases.
