The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of May 7 – 13, 2023. The following is a breakdown of incident types recorded for this time period:
Sunday, May 7 At 9:40 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 700 block of West Camino Real Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a 94- year-old female who was suffering from local neuro deficit. The patient received advanced life support including 12-lead cardiac monitoring and glucose check. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Monday, May 8 At 3:50 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 600 block of West Huntington Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a 72-year- old female who was weak and dizzy. The patient received advanced life support including 12-lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and glucose check. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Tuesday, May 9 At 8:49 a.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical incident in the 200 block of North Santa Anita Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 74-year- old male unconscious and unresponsive. Fire personnel performed a full medical evaluation which included a 12-lead electrocardiogram, established intravenous access, and administration of cardiac medications. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Wednesday, May 10 At 10:38 a.m., Engine 106 and Truck 105 responded to a report of persons trapped inside an elevator in the 600 block of West Duarte Road. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a stalled elevator car with three occupants inside. Fire personnel gained access to the elevator control room and reset the elevator by cycling the power on and off. Fire personnel were able to extricate the occupants from the elevator without damage. All three occupants required no medical assistance and were released on scene. The elevator car was placed out-of-service and the property management company was contacted for repair. Thursday, May 11 At 7:17 p.m., Engine 106 and Truck 105 responded to the 400 block of South Baldwin Avenue for a reported person trapped inside an elevator. Firefighters arrived to find a cargo freight type elevator with one occupant trapped. Firefighters were quickly able to gain access through the elevator doors. The occupant was released with no medical complaints. The elevator was placed out-of-service for repairs.
Friday, May 12

At 4:39 a.m., Engine 106, Engine 102, Truck 105, Battalion 105, and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a reported rollover traffic collision on the eastbound 210 Freeway at Baldwin Avenue. Firefighters arrived to find a two-vehicle traffic collision with multiple occupants. Firefighters were able to quickly free the trapped persons by hand. Additional resources assisted with medical evaluation of two occupants with complaints of neck and back pain. One patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
Saturday, May 13 At 12:48 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 900 block West Huntington Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a 22-year- old male who was suffering from abdominal pain. The patient received advanced life support including 12-lead cardiac monitoring and blood glucose monitoring. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
