Fire Department Weekly Report - week of May 31 – June 6, 2026

The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of May 31 – June 6, 2026. The following is a breakdown of incident categories recorded for this period:




Sunday, May 31

At 12:42 p.m., Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, and BLS 106 responded to the 400

block of South Santa Anita Avenue. Paramedics found a 68-year-old male with blunt

head trauma from an assault. The patient was treated and transported by Rescue

Ambulance 105 to Huntington Memorial Trauma Center for further care.


Monday, June 1

At 7:58 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a report of a

person down in the 200 block of South First Avenue. Fire personnel found a 91-year-

old male on the ground due to a mechanical fall. The patient had a significant leg

deformity and was in discomfort. Paramedics applied a traction splint, administered

pain medication intravenously, and transported the patient to USC Arcadia Hospital.


Tuesday, June 2

At 9:37 a.m., Engine 107, Rescue Ambulance 106, and BLS 106 responded to a

medical incident in the 400 block of Oxford Drive. Upon arrival, Engine 107 and

Rescue Ambulance 105 found an 87-year-old female exhibiting stroke-like

symptoms. Paramedics conducted a series of stroke tests and confirmed the patient

was experiencing a stroke. Fire personnel obtained a 12-lead electrocardiogram,

checked blood glucose levels, established intravenous access, and transported the

patient to USC Arcadia Hospital Comprehensive Stroke Center for treatment.


Wednesday, June 3

At 9:18 p.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical incident

near the 200 block of East Haven Avenue. Upon arrival, they found a 69-year-old

female experiencing difficulty breathing and a low heart rate. Fire personnel

conducted a full medical evaluation, including a 12-lead electrocardiogram,

established intravenous access, administered oxygen, and obtained a complete set

of vital signs. The patient’s condition deteriorated quickly, so fire personnel assisted

her breathing with a bag-valve-mask (BVM). Rescue Ambulance 105 then transported

the patient to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation.


Thursday, June 4

At 16:31 p.m., Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, and BLS 106 responded to a

medical incident on the 100 block of Camino Real Avenue. Fire personnel found an

86-year-old female experiencing difficulty breathing. A full medical evaluation,

including vitals, a 12-lead EKG, oxygen, and IV therapies, was performed. The patient

was transported by Rescue Ambulance 105 to USC Arcadia Hospital for further

evaluation.


Friday, June 5

At 17:34 a.m., Engine 107 reported a still alarm leaking hydrant incident in the 1600

block of Perkins Drive. A resident in the area alerted the Fire Department personnel

that a fire hydrant was flowing water. Upon arrival Engine 107 was able to control the

leak by tightening the hydrant valve resolving the problem. The hydrant was not

damaged and required no additional repairs. There was no water damage to any

property. Engine 107 made contact with the reporting resident, advising that the

water leak issue had been addressed.


Saturday, June 6

At 11:22 a.m., Engine 105 and Truck 105 responded to a report of a stalled elevator

with trapped persons in the 200 block of East Huntington Drive. Fire crews found five

people trapped between the 5th and 6th floors. The Engine crew located the reset

and manual lowering system, but it was not functional. The power to the elevator

was shut down, and firefighters used forcible entry tools to access the victims. The

occupants were safely rescued, with no injuries reported.
