Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report -Sunday, May 24* through Saturday, May 30,

For the period of Sunday, May 24th through Saturday, May 30th, the Police Department responded to 1,040 calls for service, of which 118 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.


Sunday, May 24:

At approximately 9:56 a.m., an officer responded to the 1000 block of Loma Verde

Drive regarding a driver asleep at the wheel of a parked vehicle. Upon contacting the

driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the driver's breath.

Through a series of tests, the officer determined the driver was driving under the

influence of alcohol. The 22-year-old male from Pasadena was arrested and

transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


Monday, May 25:

At approximately 5:44 a.m., an officer responded to Sushi Kiyosuzu, located at 921 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. Surveillance cameras captured two male suspects pried open a rear door, ransacked the kitchen. and fled with cash from the register. Both suspects are described as Hispanic males.

The investigation is ongoing.


Tuesday, May 26:

At approximately 11:33 a.m.., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of West Live Oak Avenue regarding a forgery report. The victim discovered an unidentified suspect forged his signature to cancel his business license. The victim does not know who the possible suspects) could be.


Wednesday, May 27:

At approximately 1:48 a.m., an officer responded to the 1000 block of Monte Verde Drive regarding a mail theft incident. A witness reported seeing a male suspect opening mailboxes. The officer was unable to locate the suspect but discovered approximately 10 mailboxes had been checked and left open.


Thursday, May 28:

At approximately 4:35 p.m., an officer responded to Macy's, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a petty theft report. Surveillance cameras captured the male suspect stealing more than $800.00 worth of merchandise before fleeing on foot. The investigation is ongoing.


Friday, May 29:

At approximately 12:11 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1700 block of South Sixth Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. Sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on May 29°, an unknown suspects) shattered a bedroom window and ransacked the home. The loss is unknown and it appears the suspects) disabled power to the home, therefore deactivating the surveillance cameras.


Saturday. May 30:

At approximately 4:15 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of West Duarte Road regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed a domestic dispute escalated and resulted in the husband battering his wife, causing visible injuries. The 45-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
