The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of May 17 – 23, 2026. The following is a breakdown of incident categories

recorded for this period:




Sunday, May 17

At 5:42 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical incident

in the 400 block of Live Oak Avenue. Fire personnel arrived and found a 78-year-old

female with a chief complaint of difficulty breathing. The patient received a 12-lead

electrocardiogram (EKG), oxygen and intravenous therapies, and was transported to

San Gabriel Valley Medical Center for further care.


Monday, May 18

At 4:55 p.m., Engine 107, Engine 37, and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to the

eastbound 210 Freeway for a traffic collision. Fire personnel arrived and found two

vehicles and two occupants involved. One occupant declined treatment, evaluation,

and transport. The second occupant, a 39-year-old female, reported a lack of

sensation in her lower torso. The patient was transported to Huntington Hospital,

and the scene was released to California Highway Patrol.


Tuesday, May 19

At 7:47 a.m., Truck 105 assisted a 30-year-old female who walked into the fire station

requesting help with removing a ring. Fire personnel noted severe swelling on her

right ring finger. Using a ring cutter, the ring was successfully removed. The woman

expressed immediate relief and declined further medical attention.


Wednesday, May 20

At 8:55 p.m., Truck 105 responded to the 1100 block of Huntington Drive for a

reported electrical fire. Fire personnel arrived and found power lines arcing due to

Mylar balloons caught in the wires. Southern California Edison was notified to

remove the hazard. No fire or damage occurred.


Thursday, May 21

At 12:47 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical

incident in the 400 block of Santa Anita Avenue. Fire personnel arrived and found a

54-year-old male with a chief complaint of an overdose. The patient received a 12-

lead EKG, intravenous therapy, and a blood glucose check. The patient became

agitated and police officers were called to assist with restraining the patient. The

patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further care.


Friday, May 22

At 2:03 a.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical incident

in the 100 block of Second Avenue. Fire personnel arrived and found a 74-year-old

female with a complaint of a syncopal episode and dizziness. The patient received a

12-lead EKG, blood glucose check, oxygen, and was transported to USC Arcadia

Hospital for further care.


Saturday, May 23

At 7:28 a.m., Engine 106, Truck 105, and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to an

elevator rescue in the 100 block of Huntington Drive. Fire personnel arrived and

found 13 victims trapped inside a stalled elevator car between floors. Fire personnel

secured the power supply to the affected elevator car and utilized non-destructive

entry methods to rescue the occupants. All occupants were uninjured and declined

further medical care.
