Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, May 31st through Saturday, June 6th

For the period of Sunday, May 31st through Saturday, June 6th, the Police Department responded to 1,012 calls for service, of which 107 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department
during this period.
Sunday, May 31:
At approximately 10:30 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Baldwin
Avenue and Gate 8 of Santa Anita Park regarding a traffic collision. Upon contacting
the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath.
Through a series of tests, the officer determined he was driving with a blood alcohol
content of .21%. The 43-year-old male from Monrovia was arrested and transported
to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Monday, June 1:
At approximately 11:53 a.m., an officer responded to The Shops at Santa Anita,
located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding an attempted robbery investigation.
The officer discovered the initial suspect attempted to steal a gold chain from the
victim but was unsuccessful. The victim was then approached by two additional
suspects who attempted to assault him. The suspects were described as Hispanic
males between the ages of 18 and 20-years-old. The investigation is ongoing.
Tuesday, June 2:
At approximately 12:02 a.m., an officer responded to the area of First Avenue and
Foothill Boulevard regarding a grand theft incident. The victim stated they saw the
suspect walking away with their property. Officers located the 37-year-old female
transient near Eisenhower Park. She was arrested and transported to the Pasadena
City Jail for booking.
Wednesday, June 3:
At approximately 10:51 p.m., an officer responded to 24 Hour Fitness, located at 125
North First Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary report. Sometime between 7:30
p.m. and 10:10 p.m., someone broke into multiple lockers in the men’s locker room.
Additional burglaries from 24 Hour Fitness were reported on June 4th
.
Thursday, June 4:
At approximately 5:55 p.m., an officer responded to Eisenhower Park, located at 601
North Second Avenue, regarding a vandalism report. The officer discovered graffiti
in one of the bathroom stalls. The incident happened sometime during the previous
night.
Friday, June 5:
At approximately 1:34 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2500 block of
Woodruff Way regarding a fraud investigation. An investigation revealed the suspect
convinced the victim to transfer money to an account for the suspect to invest. The
victim complied and the suspect ultimately stole the victim’s money.
Saturday, June 6:
At approximately 2:34 p.m., an officer responded to REI, located at 214 North Santa
Anita Avenue, regarding a grand theft report. A review of surveillance footage
revealed one suspect entered the store on multiple occasions to steal various items.
The suspect is described as an Asian male. The investigation is ongoing.
