The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of July 21 – 27, 2024. The following is a breakdown of incident types recorded for this period:
Sunday, July 21
At 6:50 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a report of a medical
incident in the 200 block of West Palm Drive. Upon arrival, there was an 86-year-old male
with a complaint of a traumatic injury to his head. Fire personnel performed a full medical
evaluation of the patient that included vitals, 12-lead electrocardiogram, and intravenous
therapy. The patient was transported to Huntington Hospital for an evaluation.
Monday, July 22
At 2:36 a.m., Engine 105, Engine 102, and Monrovia Squad 102 responded to a reported
traffic collision on the east bound 210 Freeway at Huntington Drive. Fire personnel arrived
to find a non-injury traffic collision, and California Highway Patrol assisted in clearing the
incident.
Tuesday, July 23
At 4:45 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a law enforcement
agency assist request, for a two-year-old female that was found lethargic and in need of
care during an investigation. The patient received intravenous fluids, cardiac monitoring,
blood glucose testing, and was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation
and care.
Wednesday, July 24
At 9:19 p.m., Engine 106 responded to the 900 block of West Huntington Drive for a
reported residential fire alarm. Fire personnel arrived to find a carbon monoxide alarm
sounding and found that a low battery caused the detector to activate. Fire personnel
utilized a gas monitor to ensure the atmospheric air was safe. All readings were normal,
and the resident will work with property management to replace the detector.
Thursday, July 25
At 12:45 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a report of an
automobile versus pedestrian incident at the intersection of Santa Anita Avenue and
Magna Vista Avenue. Upon arrival, there was one injured male pediatric patient who was
struck by a car that was traveling approximately 30 miles per hour. Fire personnel
performed a full medical evaluation which included intravenous access, blood pressure,
and electrocardiogram. The patient was transported to Huntington Hospital for further
evaluation.
Friday, July 26
At 9:40 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical incident in
the 1000 block of West Huntington Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 73-year-old
male with a complaint of altered level of consciousness. The patient received a full
medical evaluation that included a 12-lead electrocardiogram and intravenous therapy.
The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
Saturday, July 27
At 6:24 a.m., Engine 107, Engine 106, Engine 105, Engine 41, Engine 101, Engine 102,
Truck 105, Truck 32, Rescue Ambulance 106, Rescue Ambulance 41, Battalion 10, and
Battalion 105 responded to the 700 block of Singing Wood Drive for a reported residential
structure fire. Fire personnel arrived to find smoke pushing from the second story and
attic areas of the home. Fire personnel extended hose lines and worked to find a stubborn
fire within the walls of the home. The residents were evaluated and released on scene,
the fire was held to the room of origin, and the property was released back to its residents.
