Fire Department Weekly Report - week of July 13 – 19, 2025

The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the
week of July 13 – 19, 2025. The following is a breakdown of incident types recorded
for this period:

Sunday, July 13
At 7:17 p.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical incident
in the 00 block of East Colorado Boulevard. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 90-
year-old male exhibiting stroke symptoms. Paramedics performed a series of stroke
tests on the patient and identified the patient was experiencing a stroke. The patient
received a 12-lead electrocardiogram (EKG), blood glucose check, intravenous
therapy, and was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
Monday, July 14
At 10:59 a.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical
incident in the 300 block of North Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found
a 72-year-old female with a chief complaint of chest pain. The patient received a full
medical evaluation which included a 12-lead EKG, intravenous therapy, aspirin and
nitroglycerin, and was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
Tuesday, July 15
At 9:11 a.m., Truck 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 reported to a still alarm medical
incident at Fire Station 105. A patient presented in the front lobby with a ring stuck
on a swollen finger, causing restricted blood flow. Fire personnel used a pneumatic
whizzer tool to safely remove the ring. The patient sustained no additional injuries
and declined further care.
Wednesday, July 16

At 1:03 p.m., Engine 106, Truck 105, and Battalion 105
responded to a report of a structure fire in the 300 block of
West Huntington Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel reported
a smell of electrical burning at the museum and checked the
breakers and used a thermal imaging camera to confirm that
there was no active fire in the building.
Thursday, July 17
At 3:47 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to the 400 block of
West Duarte Road for a person down. Fire personnel arrived to find an 89-year-old
male suffering from an altered level of consciousness. The patient received a 12-lead
EKG, intravenous therapy, blood glucose testing, medications, and was transported
to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
Friday, July 18
At 10:18 p.m., Truck 105 responded to the 400 block of California Street for a hazard
investigation. Fire personnel arrived and found a power strip that was wet, causing a
malfunction. Power was disconnected and the cord was removed from the residence.
No structural damage and no injuries occurred.
Saturday, July 19
At 5:59 p.m., Engine 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, and BLS 106 responded to a
reported traffic collision at the intersection of Campus Drive and Holly Avenue. Upon
arrival, fire personnel found a two-vehicle traffic collision involving two patients. One
patient refused medical care. The other patient was unconscious and was
transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment. The Arcadia Police
Department remained on scene to assist with traffic control and removal of the
vehicles from the roadway.
