Fire Department Weekly Report - week of April 21 – 27, 2024

The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week

of April 21 – 27, 2024. The following is a breakdown of incident types recorded for this

time period:




Sunday, April 21

At 3:06 a.m., Truck 105, Engine 106, Rescue Ambulance 105, Rescue Ambulance 106,

and Battalion 105 responded to a report of a two-car collision on the east bound 210

Freeway at Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, there were two vehicles involving four patients

that needed extrication. Fire personnel extricated and performed a full medical evaluation

on all patients. Two pediatric patients were transported to Los Angeles General Medical

Center for further evaluation and treatment.

Monday, April 22

At 11:12 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a request for trauma

transport of a patient in the 300 block of Huntington Drive. Upon arrival, there was a 40-

year-old patient with a complaint of upper back pain from a stabbing injury. Fire personnel

performed a full medical evaluation which included intravenous access, blood pressure,

and electrocardiogram. The patient was transported to Huntington Hospital for further

evaluation and treatment.

Tuesday, April 23

At 3:31 p.m., Engine 106, Rescue Ambulance 106, and BLS 106 responded to a medical

incident in the 1600 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, there was an 83-year-

old male that had a complaint of shortness of breath. Fire personnel performed a full

medical evaluation which included a 12-lead electrocardiogram, established intravenous

access, and administered albuterol treatment. The patient was transported to USC

Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Wednesday, April 24

At 11:25 a.m., Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 106, and BLS 106 responded to a reported

traffic collision at the intersection of Huntington Drive and Santa Clara Street. Upon

arrival, there was a two-vehicle collision involving two patients. Paramedics performed a

full medical assessment on both drivers. One patient, a 21-year-old female, complained

of abdominal pain from the accident. Fire personnel obtained a 12-lead electrocardiogram

and transported the patient to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

The other patient refused further care and was released at the scene.

Thursday, April 25

At 1:32 p.m., Engine 106, Rescue Ambulance 106, and BLS 106 responded to a medical

incident at the intersection of Naomi Avenue and Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, fire

personnel found a 32-year-old male with a complaint of a syncopal episode. Fire

personnel performed a full medical evaluation which included a 12-lead

electrocardiogram and established intravenous access. The patient was transported to

USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Friday, April 26

At 10:43 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical incident

in the 100 block of Santa Clara Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 70-year-old

male with a complaint of leg pain from a gunshot wound. Fire personnel performed a full

medical evaluation which included bandaging the wound, a 12-lead electrocardiogram,

and established intravenous access. The patient was transported to Huntington Hospital

for further evaluation and treatment.

Saturday, April 27

At 11:09 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a report of a medical

incident in the 100 block of Las Flores Avenue. Upon arrival, there was an 81-year-old

patient with a complaint of weakness and chest pain. Fire personnel performed a full

medical evaluation which included intravenous access, blood pressure, and

electrocardiogram. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further

evaluation and treatment.
