Fire Department Weekly Report -May 28 – June 3, 2023

The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of May 28 – June 3, 2023. The following is a breakdown of incident types recorded for this time period:

Sunday, May 28 At 5:38 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical incident in the 400 block of East Live Oak Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found 44-year-old female with facial lacerations from a fall. Paramedics performed a trauma assessment on the patient and identified further treatment would be necessary. Fire personnel obtained a 12-lead electrocardiogram, blood glucose check, established intravenous access, and the patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.



Monday, May 29 At 6:06 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of Santa Anita Avenue and Camino Real Avenue. Firefighters arrived to find a two-vehicle traffic collision with one 55-year-old male complaining of head pain. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Tuesday, May 30 At 7:37 p.m., Truck 105 and Engine 106 responded to the 400 block of South Baldwin Avenue for the report of a person trapped inside of an elevator. Firefighters arrived to find two occupants inside of the elevator stuck in between floors. Firefighters lowered the car to the first floor and were able to open the doors and safely remove the occupants. The elevator car was placed out-of-service. Wednesday, May 31 At 5:16 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 100 block of West Live Oak Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a 65-year- old female who was suffering from right shoulder pain. The patient received advanced life support including 12-lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and glucose check. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Thursday, June 1 At 1:03 a.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 100 block of First Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a 31-year-old female who was suffering from abdominal pain with vomiting. The patient received advanced life support including 12-lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access with glucose check, and medication for nausea. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Friday, June 2 At 10:30 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical incident in the 700 block of Fairview Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 67-year-old female with a complaint of shortness of breath. Fire personnel performed a full medical evaluation which included a 12-lead electrocardiogram, intravenous therapy, and breathing treatment. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Saturday, June 3 At 2:32 a.m., Engine 105 responded to the 600 block of West Camino Real Avenue for a reported person down. Firefighters arrived to find an 89-year-old female that had fallen hours earlier and was unable to get up on her own. After a full evaluation and no complaints of pain or injury, the patient was able to walk on her own and denied any additional assistance or service.
