The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week
of June 9 – 15, 2024. The following is a breakdown of incident types recorded for this time
period:
Sunday, June 9
At 12:41 p.m., Engine 106 responded to a report of a vegetation fire at the intersection of
Michillinda Avenue and Colorado Drive. Upon arrival, there was a vegetation fire that was
burning in a manhole of a sewer drain. Fire personnel utilized a preconnected hose line
to extinguish the fire and used a thermal imaging camera to ensure that the hole did not
have people inside of the affected area.

Monday, June 10
At 9:04 p.m., Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, and Battalion 105 responded to the
2000 block of East Villa Avenue to assist Pasadena Fire Department with a commercial
structure fire involving multiple buildings. Several minor injuries occurred as a dog that
was being rescued was scared and bit multiple rescuers. This incident displaced eight
residents.

Tuesday, June 11
At 1:24 a.m., Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, and Battalion 105 responded to the
3900 block of Oakdale Avenue to assist Los Angeles County Fire Department with a
residential house fire. The fire damage was limited to the garage area, the primary search
was clear, and no injuries were reported.
Wednesday, June 12
At 10:29 a.m., Engine 106 and Truck 105 responded to a report of persons trapped inside
an elevator in the 400 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found
a stalled elevator car with two occupants inside. Fire personnel gained access to the
elevator control room where the elevator car was reset electronically. Fire personnel were
able to extricate the occupants from the elevator without property damage and bodily
injury. All occupants refused medical assistance and were released on scene. The
elevator car was placed out-of-service, and the property management company was
notified.
Thursday, June 13
At 4:44 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical incident in
the 400 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 51-year-old
female with an altered mental status. The patient was in a fitness center steam room for
an unknown duration and suffered heat stroke. Fire personnel obtained a complete set of
vital signs, a 12-lead electrocardiogram, a blood glucose check, and intravenous therapy.
The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
Friday, June 14
At 5:22 p.m., Engine 106, Rescue Ambulance 106, and BLS 106 responded to a report
of a medical patient in the 300 block of North Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, there was a
69-year-old patient with a complaint of weakness, dizziness, and vomiting. Fire personnel
performed a full medical evaluation which included intravenous access, blood pressure,
and electrocardiogram. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further
treatment.
Saturday, June 15
At 11:41 a.m., Urban Search and Rescue 106 and Battalion 105 were dispatched to assist
Sierra Madre Fire Department with a report of a 40-year-old female suffering from heat
exhaustion on the Mount Wilson Trail. Due to the heat of the day, a helicopter was
requested to assist with locating the woman. The woman was quickly located by air
resources, hoisted into the helicopter, and transported to Huntington Hospital for further
evaluation.
