Fire Department Weekly Report

The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week

of January 28 – February 3, 2024. The following is a breakdown of incident types recorded

for this time period:

Sunday, January 28

At 12:42 a.m., Engine 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, and units from Monrovia Fire

Department responded to a report of a two-vehicle traffic collision on the west bound 210

Freeway at Huntington Drive. Upon arrival, there were two patients that were injured in

the traffic collision. Patient One was a 27-year-old female with minor bleeding and Patient

Two was a 41-year-old male with a complaint of traumatic back pain. Fire personnel

completed a full medical evaluation of the patients, and both were transported to USC

Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. California Highway Patrol remained

on scene.

Monday, January 29

At 9:40 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a report of a medical

incident in the 100 block of Cabrillo Road. Upon arrival, there was an 88-year-old patient

with an altered level of consciousness and possible sepsis. Fire personnel performed a

full medical evaluation which included intravenous access, blood pressure, and

electrocardiogram. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further

evaluation and treatment.

Tuesday, January 30

At 2:26 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 41 responded to a report of a medical

patient at the intersection of Huntington Drive and First Avenue. Upon arrival, there was

a 44-year-old patient with a complaint of weakness and dizziness. Fire personnel

performed a full medical evaluation which included intravenous access, blood pressure,

and electrocardiogram. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further

evaluation and treatment.


Wednesday, January 31

At 7:40 a.m., Engine 106, Engine 107, Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, and Battalion 105 responded to assist Monrovia Fire Department in the 900 block of East Lemon Avenue for a reported commercial structure fire. Fire personnel arrived to find a school with two classrooms well involved with fire. The blaze was under control in 15 minutes and no injuries occurred during this incident.


Thursday, February 1

At 11:13 a.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a reported allergic

reaction in the 1000 block of Wigwam Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 7-

month-old female suffering from food-related allergic reaction. Paramedics obtained an

initial set of vital signs, an electrocardiogram, established intravenous access, and

administered Benadryl to stop the reaction. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia

Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Friday, February 2

At 8:25 a.m., Engine 105, Engine 106, Truck 105, and Battalion 105 responded to a

reported natural gas leak in the 300 block of West Huntington Drive. Upon arrival,

occupants were found evacuated near the front of a single-story commercial structure.

Fire personnel investigated and found a malfunctioning stove which was allowing the free

flow of natural gas inside the structure. Using a multi-gas detector, fire personnel detected

over 400 parts per million inside the structure. The structure was evacuated, and the gaswas shut off to the stove. Additionally, fire personnel utilized an electric blower to exhaust

the natural gas from the structure.

Saturday, February 3

At 7:55 p.m., Engine 105, Engine 107, Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 106, USAR 106,

and units from Monrovia Fire Department responded to a report of a train versus

pedestrian incident at Metro Monrovia Station. Upon arrival, there was one patient that

was struck by a train. Fire personnel secured the scene and shut down train traffic in both

directions. Los Angeles County Sheriffs and Metro representatives remained on scene

for investigation.
