Carcadia draws front page attention

The eight-month-old Carcadia @Route 66 has already drawn the attention of the local media.

The Pasadena Star-News reporter Chris Floch and photographer Art Lemus covered the July 27 event and ran a story sbout it in its pages with two photos on July 29 and followed that with a cover story on its sister Weekly Star Thursday, Aug. 7. Additional photos are at the Star-News web site link above, and photo coverage from all previous events are on the Facebook page linked above, and here at ArcadiasBest.com.

Another event from the non-profit community events organization of Sho Tay, Carol Libby, Scott Hettrick, and Glenn Oyoung, Arcadia’s Best Foundation, Carcadia @Route 66 has drawn anywhere from 20-70 cars since December on the fourth Sunday of each month from 7:30 a.m. – 9 a.m. in the parking lot of Denny’s restaurant on the northeast corner of the intersection at Huntington Drive and Santa Anita Avenue. (Huntington Drive is also the historic Route 66.) In addition to graciously donating its parking lot, Denny’s manager Ema Shuton also offers 15% off anything on the menu for attendees of the car show during the duration of the event each month.

Anyone who believes they have a cool car of any kind they would like to show others is welcome to drive up and park for free during the show for car lovers. The show has featured everything from Model A’s, classic muscle cars and hot rods to brand new maseratis, ferraris, lamborghinis and Nissan GTs.

The next Carcadia @Route 66 is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Aug. 24.
