For the period of Sunday, September 21st through Saturday, September 27th, the Police Department responded to 1,120 calls for service, of which 90 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, September 21:
At approximately 6:56 p.m., an officer responded to The Shops at Santa Anita, located
at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a robbery investigation. The officer
discovered a group of juveniles stole the victim’s necklace and brandished a knife
before fleeing on foot. The suspects are described as Hispanic males between the
ages of 15 and 18-years-old. The investigation is ongoing.
Monday, September 22:
At approximately 4:26 p.m., an officer responded to the front counter of the Arcadia
Police Department regarding a fraud report. The victim stated someone opened a
line of credit in his name without his permission. The victim did not know how they
obtain his personal information or the identity of the suspect.
Tuesday, September 23:
At approximately 11:36 a.m., an officer responded to Victoria’s Secret, located at 400
South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a grand theft incident. An investigation revealed
two Hispanic males stole 113 bras resulting in a loss of more than $6,209.00. Both
suspects are described as being approximately 5’11” tall, with thin builds, and
wearing all black clothing and black bandanas covering their faces. The investigation
is pending a review of available surveillance footage.
Wednesday, September 24:
At approximately 11:53 a.m., an officer responded to the 800 block of West
Huntington Drive regarding a vehicle burglary report. The officer determined four
suspects worked in concert to force open a locked storage area of a UPS delivery
truck and stole packages. The suspects are described as Hispanic males, with one
being described as 45 to 55-years-old.
Thursday, September 25:
At approximately 9:18 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1100 block of
Hugo Reid Drive regarding a burglary report. Sometime between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00
p.m., unidentified suspect(s) smashed a window and stole a safe.
Friday, September 26:
At approximately 1:30 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Foothill
Boulevard and Baldwin Avenue regarding a vehicle blocking traffic. Upon contacting the
driver, the officer determined the 38-year-old female from Los Angeles was under the
influence of alcohol and was driving with a suspended license. She was arrested and
transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Saturday, September 27:
At approximately 4:26 a.m., an officer responded to the area of South Santa Anita
Avenue and Linda Rae Way regarding the activation of a GPS tracking device inside a
bait package that had been deployed to combat package thefts. The officer located
the stolen package and arrested a 27-year-old male from Wildomar. A records check
revealed the suspect had an outstanding warrant.
