Fire Department Weekly Report - week of September 6 – 12, 2026

The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of September 6 – 12, 2026. The following is a breakdown of incident categories

recorded for this period:

Sunday, September 6

At 9:27 a.m., Engine 105 responded to a report of power lines down to the rear of the

100 block of West Huntington Drive. Upon arrival, Engine 105 found high voltage lines

down in the parking area. Engine 105 crew was locating the source of the issue when

a transformer malfunctioned and sent sparks across the sky. Engine 105 personnel

moved to a safe location and contacted Verdugo dispatch to have Southern California

Edison (SCE) respond. The transformer malfunction caused a power outage in the

surrounding area affecting traffic signals and businesses. E105 personnel set up a

perimeter of the area to keep nearby residents safe and aware of the situation. Once

technicians from SCE arrived, they were able to isolate the electrical issue and restore

the power after extensive repairs to the high-tension lines.

Monday, September 7

At 1:44 p.m., Engine 105, Rescue Ambulance 106, and BLS 106 responded to a

medical incident near the 900 block of Third Avenue. Upon arrival, Rescue Ambulance

106 found a 76-year-old male exhibiting stroke symptoms. Paramedics performed a

series of stroke tests on the patient and identified the patient was experiencing a

stroke. Fire personnel obtained a twelve-lead electrocardiogram, blood glucose

check, established intravenous access, and transported the patient to the

comprehensive strike center via Rescue Ambulance 106.

Tuesday, September 8

At 9:23 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical incident

in the 400 block of West Huntington Drive. Fire personnel found a 89-year-old male

with a chief complaint of seizures. A full medical evaluation was performed, including

vitals, twelve lead electrocardiogram, oxygen and IV therapies. The patient was

transported by Rescue Ambulance 106 to USC Arcadia Hospital for further

evaluation.

Wednesday, September 9

At 1:07 p.m., Engine 106, Engine 107, Truck 105,

Rescue Ambulance 105, Battalion 105, and units

from Pasadena Fire responded to a structure fire

in the 400 block of Michillinda Avenue in Pasadena.

Upon arrival, Engine 107 reported a structure fire

in a single-family residence with an extension to

the attic and initiated a fire attack with Engine 106.

Truck 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 were

assigned to the Rapid Intervention Group, with

Battalion 105 as the supervisor. Fire crews

successfully contained the fire to the room of

origin. Arcadia units assisted in rescuing a dog from inside the structure and performed life-saving measures, including providing supplemental oxygen with a pet oxygen mask.

The dog made a full recovery.

Thursday, September 10

At 4:33 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical incident

in the 1600 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Fire personnel found a 91-year-old

female with a chief complaint of difficulty breathing. A full medical evaluation was

performed including vitals, twelve-lead electrocardiogram, oxygen and IV therapies.

The patient was transported by Rescue Ambulance 106 to USC Arcadia Hospital for

further evaluation.

Friday, September 11

At 10:47 a.m., Engine 105 responded to the 1300 block of South Fourth Avenue for a

reported odor investigation. The arriving firefighters quickly noticed construction in

the neighborhood, further investigation revealed hot tar utilized for water proofing

at the construction site was causing the odor. Neighbors were advised of what the

odor was and assisted with minimizing the impacts to their homes. No hazardous

conditions were found, and the contractor was operating in compliance with city

requirements.

Saturday, September 12

At 6:27 p.m., Engine 106, Rescue Ambulance 106 and BLS 106 responded to a medical

incident near the 1600 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, Engine 106 and

Rescue Ambulance 106 found a 77-year-old male with a complaint of altered mental

status. Fire personnel obtained a twelve-lead electrocardiogram, blood glucose

check, intravenous access, and Rescue Ambulance 106 transported the patient to

USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
