Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, September 6th through Saturday, September 12th

For the period of Sunday, September 6th through Saturday, September 12th, the Police Department responded to 847 calls for service, of which 109 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled

by the Department during this period.

Sunday, September 6:

At approximately 4:59 a.m., an officer responded to the 00 block of La Porte Street

regarding a stolen vehicle report. Sometime between 4:00 p.m. on September 5th and

4:59 a.m. on September 6th, someone tried to steal the victim’s Hyundai sedan by

tampering with the steering column. No additional loss was reported and the

suspect(s) were unable to steal the vehicle.

Monday, September 7:

At approximately 11:27 a.m., an officer responded to the 99 Ranch Market parking

lot, located at 1300 South Golden West Avenue, regarding a theft from vehicle report.

An investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) smashed the car window and stole a

bag containing a laptop and debit card. The suspect then used the stolen debit card

to make a fraudulent purchase at Auto Zone. The suspects are described as two

Hispanic males with tattoos. The investigation is ongoing.

Tuesday, September 8:

At approximately 1:35 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2500 block of

South Third Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. The officer determined

unidentified suspect(s) turned off the power to the home, entered the home by

removing an in-wall AC unit, and ransacked the residence. They fled with a safe

containing personal documents. The investigation is pending a review of the

surveillance footage.

Wednesday, September 9:

At approximately 11:05 a.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia City Library, located

at 20 West Duarte Road, regarding a battery investigation. The officer discovered the

suspect confronted the victim in the bathroom for no apparent reason and then

threw a wet paper towel in the victim’s face. A records check of the suspect revealed

he had an outstanding warrant. The 38-year-old male from Los Angeles was arrested

and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Thursday, September 10:

At approximately 2:06 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2700 block of

Winthrop Avenue regarding a package theft report. The victim reported that an

unidentified suspect stole the victim’s package by signing for its delivery under a false

name.

Friday, September 11:

At approximately 11:08 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of

East Rodell Place regarding a burglary report. Sometime during the previous night,

someone broke into the garage and stole various construction tools.

Saturday, September 12:

At approximately 12:59 p.m., an officer responded to 99 Ranch Market, located at

1300 South Golden West Avenue, regarding a robbery report. An investigation

revealed a Black male suspect stole the victim’s purse from the seat of her car and

fled in a Dodge sedan. When the victim attempted to retrieve her stolen purse by

grabbing onto the suspect’s vehicle, the vehicle fled causing the victim to fall and

sustain injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
