Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, May 4th through Saturday, May 10th

For the period of Sunday, May 4th through Saturday, May 10th, the Police Department responded to 992 calls for service, of which 98 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Monday, May 5:
At approximately 9:06 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of Laurel Avenue regarding a theft of package report. At 9:07 p.m. on May 3rd , a surveillance camera captured a lone male suspect steal the victim’s package. An officer reviewed the footage and identified the suspect as a 54-year-old local male transient.
Tuesday, May 6:
At approximately 7:23 a.m., an officer responded to Highland Oaks Elementary School, located at 10 Virginia Road, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. A reporting party discovered someone pried open one of the classrooms and ransacked the room. No loss was reported.
At approximately 12:52 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of Camino
Grove Avenue regarding a burglary report. Sometime between 10:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. on
May 6th, unknown suspect(s) pried open a bathroom window and ransacked the home. They fled with cash, jewelry, and handbags.
Wednesday, May 7:
At approximately 4:32 p.m., an officer responded to Baldwin Stocker School, located at 422 West Lemon Avenue, regarding a battery investigation. The officer determined an altercation between parents escalated and resulted in the suspect hitting the other parent on the arm. The suspect has been identified as a 57-year-old male from Arcadia.
Thursday, May 8:
At approximately 9:59 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1600 block of Oakhaven Drive regarding a fraud report. The victim discovered someone attempted to open a fraudulent bank account in his name without his permission. The victim does not know how anyone obtained his personal information or the identity of the suspect.
Friday, May 9:
At approximately 1:24 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of West Longden Avenue regarding a fraud investigation. The victim stated someone stole the blank checks she ordered and attempted to fill them in and cash them. The bank declined the transaction so there was no loss.
Saturday, May 10:
At approximately 7:41 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of West Woodruff Avenue regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed a male suspect shattered a rear window, encountered a residence inside the home, and then fled empty-handed. Two additional suspects were involved. The three suspects are described as Hispanic males wearing colored hooded sweatshirts.
