
For the period of Sunday, May 21st through Saturday, May 27th, the Police Department responded to 893 calls for service, of which 118 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period. Monday, May 22: 1. At 10:49 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Encanto Drive regarding a battery investigation. The officer determined a dispute between an ex- boyfriend and ex-girlfriend resulted in the female half biting the male half. The 21-year- old female was arrested and transported to the Pasadena City Jail for booking.
Wednesday, May 24:
2. At 5:23 a.m., an officer responded to Mr. Champions, located at 168 Las Tunas Drive, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. Sometime between 1:30 p.m. on May 23rd and 5:52 a.m. on May 24th, someone broke the door handle to the business to gain entry, and once inside, they stole coins from the register.
3. At 12:46 p.m., an officer responded to Victoria’s Secret, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a grand theft investigation. Surveillance footage captured the male suspect steal 46 bras resulting in a loss of more than $2,600.00. The theft has been linked to two additional grand thefts from the same location.
4. At 2:41 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of San Vicente Road regarding a burglary investigation. Sometime between May 23rd at 12:00 p.m. and May 24th at 12:00 a.m., someone entered a secured and inhabited RV and stole two firearms and jewelry.
Thursday, May 25:
5. At 9:55 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Singing Wood Drive regarding a burglary investigation. The officer determined unknown suspect(s) pried open a rear door and ransacked the home. They also pried open a gun safe and fled with stolen firearms and jewelry.
6. At 10:43 a.m., an officer responded to CVS Pharmacy, located at 188 West Las Tunas Drive, regarding a battery investigation. The officer discovered two male suspects forcefully pulled the victim from her car. Further investigation revealed this incident was a result of a prior dispute among acquaintances.
7. At 11:38 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1700 block of Lee Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. Sometime between 8:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., someone smashed a glass panel of a door, entered the home, and fled with an undetermined amount of property.
8. At 1:39 p.m., an officer responded to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. Surveillance footage captured a lone suspect entering an unlocked storage room and fleeing with $150 cash. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a thin build, wearing a blue baseball hat and a red and white checkered flannel shirt.
Friday, May 26: 9. At 1:01 a.m., an officer responded to Ming Long Insurance, located at 168 Las Tunas Drive, regarding an alarm activation. The officer determined someone pried open a rear doorknob and ransacked the office. The loss is unknown.
Saturday, May 27: 10. At 1:40 p.m., an officer responded to the Angeles National Forest Building, located at 701 North Santa Anita Avenue, regarding a burglary investigation. Sometime during the previous night, someone forcefully entered portable storage containers and fled with firefighting equipment and clothing.
