Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, June 28th through Saturday, July 4th

For the period of Sunday, June 28th through Saturday, July 4th, the Police Department responded to 934 calls for service, of which 83 required formal investigations. The
following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department
during this period.
Sunday, June 28:
At approximately 4:48 p.m., officers responded to an Automated License Plate
Reader notification of a vehicle that was used in a robbery at Grocery Outlet located
at 140 E. Live Oak Avenue. The vehicle was found in the parking lot of a nearby
business. A search of the vehicle revealed numerous packaged clothing and items
with labels still attached. In addition, the male driver and sole occupant was in
possession of a weapon and drug paraphernalia resulting in his arrest.
Monday, June 29:
At approximately 3:42 p.m., officers responded to the parking lot of a commercial
location in the 00 block of E. Huntington Drive regarding a vehicle check of a maleand female drinking alcohol. Upon investigation it did not appear that the individuals
were under the influence. However, a background check was conducted and
revealed that both individuals had outstanding misdemeanor warrants. They were
cited and released in the field.
Tuesday, June 30:
At approximately 8:35 a.m., an officer responded to an apartment complex in the 00
block of Campus Drive regarding a cold burglary report. While investigating the
previous burglary, the officer was notified of another burglary at the same complex.
The victim was contacted by a possible male suspect who claimed to be a plumber
wanting to work inside the victims apartment. The victim left the location and
returned to find the location ransacked and cash stolen. The investigation is ongoing.
Wednesday, July 1:
At approximately 11:24 a.m., officers responded to a commercial location of the 5500
block of Peck Road regarding a catalytic converter theft. An investigation revealed
that two male suspects cut a portion of steal fence to gain access to a secure parking
lot, then proceeded to steal a catalytic converter. The theft was captured on CCTV.
An investigation is ongoing.
Thursday, July 2:
At approximately 6:38 a.m., an officer conducted foot patrol of the wash located at
Second Avenue and Colorado Boulevard and discovered graffiti on the second pillar
east of Second Avenue. Graffiti Abatement was notified for removal.
Friday, July 3:
At approximately 3:49 p.m., officers responded to a traffic collision involving a vehicle
that struck a parked car. The driver was found unconscious behind the wheel. The
Arcadia Fire Department arrived on scene and initiated CPR before transporting thedriver to USC Arcadia Hospital. Based on the preliminary investigation and a witness
account, it appears the driver suffered a medical emergency prior to the collision.
Further investigation is ongoing.
Saturday, July 4:
At approximately 11:15 a.m., an officer responded to Albertson’s located at 298 E.
Live Oak Avenue to investigate a theft. While shopping, the victim had set her bag,
containing personal belongings, in a shopping cart and briefly turned away to select
items. During this moment, her bag was taken. CCTV footage showed a female
suspect taking the bag, placing it in her backpack, and leaving the store. The victim
wishes to proceed with prosecution, and the investigation is ongoing.
