Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, June 21st through Saturday, June 27th

For the period of Sunday, June 21st through Saturday, June 27th, the Police Department responded to 1,105 calls for service, of which 111 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled
by the Department during this period.
Sunday, June 21:
At approximately 4:36 a.m., an officer responded to DXN Provisions, located at 215
South First Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary report. A witness reported that
two suspects shattered a window, ransacked the business, and fled with an
undetermined amount of property. The two suspects turned off the power to the
business during the burglary.
Monday, June 22:
At approximately 7:51 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of
Monte Verde Drive regarding a suspicious box hidden in the resident’s bushes.
Officers discovered the box was a hidden trail camera. Criminals have recently used
devices like these to surveil homeowners and monitor their daily routine.
Tuesday, June 23:
At approximately 1:38 p.m., an officer responded to a call regarding a suspicious
circumstances report that occurred in the 300 block of West Wistaria Avenue. The
victim’s home is currently being fumigated and the fumigation company discovered
someone tampered with the tent. It is unknown at this time if a burglary occurred.
Wednesday, June 24:
At approximately 12:11 p.m., an officer responded to the Bank of America parking
lot, located at 1234 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a theft from person report. An
investigation revealed two suspects distracted the victim by claiming the victim had
a flat tire, and while the victim was inspecting the tire, the suspects stole cash from
inside the vehicle. The suspects fled in a light-colored SUV. The investigation is
ongoing.
Thursday, June 25:
At approximately 1:40 a.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Santa Anita
Avenue and Ontare Road regarding a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road.
Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting
from the driver's breath. Through a series of tests, the officer determined the driver
was driving with a blood alcohol content of .18%. The 19-year-old male from
Pasadena was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Friday, June 26:
At approximately 9:55 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1100 block of
Fallen Leaf Road regarding a mail theft report. Surveillance cameras captured a White
male suspect pry open the victim’s mailbox and steal mail. The suspect then entered
the passenger seat of a pickup truck and fled.
Saturday, June 27:
At approximately 5:24 p.m., an officer responded to Pro Image Sports, located at 400
South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a grand theft report. Upon reviewing the
surveillance footage, it was determined an unidentified Hispanic male stole more
than $1,300.00 worth of stadium player jerseys. The suspect was wearing a white and
black fedora hat, white shirt, black pants, and had a tattoo on the right elbow.
