Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report -Sunday, June 18th through Saturday, June 24th


For the period of Sunday, June 18th through Saturday, June 24th, the Police Department responded to 971 calls for service, of which 106 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period. Sunday, June 18:

  1. At 1:37 a.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Huntington Drive and Rosemead Boulevard for running a red light. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the vehicle. The officer determined the 37-year-old male from Sierra Madre was driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

  2. At 11:15 p.m., an officer responded to REI, located at 214 North Santa Anita Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. Surveillance footage captured four suspects break the front glass door, cut the security locks to four bicycles, and flee with the stolen bikes. The suspects have not been identified.

Monday, June 19: 3. At 7:40 a.m., an officer responded to Denny’s, located at 7 East Huntington Drive, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. Sometime during the previous night, unknown suspect(s) entered the construction site and stole copper pipes and refrigerator parts.

4. At 1:56 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of Camino Grove Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. The victim stated she was home when she heard knocking at her front and back door. She discovered a female and two males entered the home but were scared off. The suspects fled in a grey Chevrolet sedan.

Tuesday, June 20: 5. At 8:07 a.m., officers responded to the office of Hal Chiasson, CPA, located at 317 East Foothill Boulevard, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. The officers determined unidentified suspect(s) broke through the front door and also broke into the neighboring business unit. The loss is camera equipment. Thursday, June 22:

6. At 5:27 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1200 block of Rodeo Road regarding a burglary investigation. An officer discovered suspect(s) accessed a second- story balcony and shattered the glass door to enter the home. The home was ransacked, and the loss has yet to be determined.


7. At 8:09 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2600 block of South Baldwin Avenue regarding a residential burglary investigation. The officer determined collectible sneakers had been stolen from the garage by unknown means. There were no signs of forced entry.


Friday, June 23: 8. At 1:02 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 700 block of Vaquero Road regarding a burglary investigation. Sometime during the previous night, someone entered the construction site and fled with stolen tools and a ladder.
