Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, January 21st, through Saturday, January 27th


For the period of Sunday, January 21st, through Saturday, January 27th, the Police Department responded to 943 calls for service of which 98 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.

Sunday, January 21:

1. At 11:49 a.m., officers responded to Eisenhower Park, 601 North Second Avenue, regarding an invasion of privacy incident that had just occurred. The male suspect stood on top of the sink and looked over the wall to watch the victim using the neighboring bathroom. The suspect was located and found to be in possession of methamphetamine. The 32-year-old male from Altadena was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

2. At 12:31 p.m., officers responded to Breakthrough, 118 East Live Oak Avenue, regarding a

burglary report. Unknown suspect(s) entered the business through an unlocked rear door and stole a desktop computer and a wireless microphone.

3. At 2:00 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 00 block of East Las Flores Avenue regarding a domestic dispute. The victim called police after her husband dragged her across the house, forcing her out of the door. The suspect had been drinking and the victim sustained visible injuries. The 41-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Monday, January 22:

4. At 12:30 a.m., officers responded to the area of Quarry Drive and Lower Azusa Road regarding a traffic accident that had just occurred. Baldwin Park Police Officers were in pursuit of a suspect on a stolen motorcycle when the motorcyclist lost control and crashed into a light pole at a high rate of speed. The suspect sustained fatal injuries.

5. At 12:33 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Sharon Road regarding the report of a burglary. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the home by smashing a rear sliding glass door. The suspect(s) ransacked the home before fleeing the scene.

6. At 11:03 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of West Lemon Avenue regarding a burglary report. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the home by smashing the glass of a rear door. The suspect(s) ransacked the home stealing cash and watches before fleeing the scene.

Tuesday, January 23:

7. At 7:30 a.m., officers responded to Ralphs, 211 East Foothill Boulevard, regarding five suspects who were shoplifting. Four of the suspects fled the scene on bicycles. The fifth suspect pushed, punched, and threatened to pepper spray a store employee. Officers located and detained the suspect. The 33-year-old female from Anaheim was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

8. At 10:20 a.m., officers responded to a residence currently under construction in the 200 block of East Forest Avenue regarding a burglary report. Unknown suspect(s) cut a padlock on the fencing of the construction site and stole copper piping from the detached suite.

Wednesday, January 24:

9. At 2:54 a.m., officers responded to the area of Baldwin Avenue and Camino Real Avenue regarding an alert on a grand theft suspect vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and the suspect driver who was wanted for stealing over two thousand dollars’ worth of merchandise. The 38-year-old male from West Covina was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

10. At 8:05 a.m., officers responded to Wang LaLa Café, 651 West Duarte Road, regarding a burglary report. An unknown suspect wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt with dark pants, used a pry bar to force open the rear door. The suspect stole cash and two iPads before fleeing the scene.

11. At 6:19 p.m., officers responded to Han and Xu Dental Corporation, 515 South First Avenue,

regarding a burglary report. An unknown suspect entered the storage room of the building by forcing open a side window. It appeared that the suspect had been living inside the storage area for several days.

Thursday, January 25:

12. At 9:55 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of West Duarte Road regarding a burglary report. Unknown suspect(s) cut the locks off two storage bins in the carport. The suspect(s) stole various personal items including antiques and holiday decor.

Saturday, January 27:

13. At 8:01 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1800 block of South Santa Anita Avenue regarding a suspect attempting to open the front door of the residence. The resident commanded the suspect to leave, but the suspect refused and continued to try to enter the residence. Officers contacted the suspect and discovered he was under the influence of methamphetamine. The 69-year-old male transient was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

14. At 9:51 p.m., officers responded to Knockouts Gentlemen’s Club, 1580 East Clark Street, regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. The suspect who was denied entry to the location, returned and threatened patrons with a machete. Private security was able to disarm and detain him until officers arrived. The 35-year-old male from Duarte was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
