Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, April 13th through Saturday, April 19th

For the period of Sunday, April 13th through Saturday, April 19th, the Police Department responded to 1,029

calls for service, of which 92 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.



Sunday, April 13:

At approximately 3:49 a.m., an officer responded to the 700 block of Arcadia Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary. Surveillance cameras captured three unidentified suspects enter a locked vehicle. The victim does not know how they entered the locked vehicle and there does not appear to be any loss. A witness stated the suspects fled in a white four door Honda.


Monday, April 14:

At approximately 2:45 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of West Duarte Road regarding a battery investigation. The victim stated his wife hit him repeatedly during an argument. The 33-year-old female from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Pasadena City Jail for booking.


Tuesday, April 15:

At approximately 1:31 p.m., an officer responded to the 1000 block of West Huntington Drive regarding a mail theft incident. An investigation revealed sometime after 6:00 p.m. on the previous day, someone forcibly broke into a community mailbox and possibly stole mail. A similar incident was reported in the 900 block of West Huntington Drive around the same time.


Wednesday, April 16:

At approximately 10:47 a.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter regarding a fraud report. The victim explained someone called her impersonating an “agent from the Department of the Treasury” and convinced the victim to withdraw $15,000. Believing the suspect was going to protect her money from fraud, the victim agreed to meet the suspect and gave him the cash. The suspect is described as a clean-shaven Indian male in his twenties with short, dark hair.


Thursday, April 17:

At approximately 1:22 p.m., an officer responded to Macy’s, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a petty theft report. Loss prevention employees indicated the suspect, a 65-year-old male from Pasadena, stole approximately $100 worth of merchandise. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. A records check revealed the suspect had more than three prior convictions for petty theft.


Friday, April 18:

At approximately 7:52 p.m., an officer responded to Macy’s, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a petty theft incident. The suspect was captured on surveillance footage stealing more than $220.00 worth of clothing. The 51-year-old male transient was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

During the booking process, methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe were located on his person. A records check also revealed he had more than 2 prior convictions for petty theft.


Saturday, April 19:

At approximately 10:55 p.m., an officer responded to Dave and Busters, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a sexual battery incident. The victim stated a coworker slapped her buttocks against her will. The investigation is ongoing.
