Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, 2 / 5th through Saturday 2 / 11th 2023


For the period of Sunday, February 5th through Saturday, February 11th, the Police Department responded to 1,022 calls for service, of which 136 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period. Sunday, February 5:

  1. At 8:22 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of South Fifth Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. Surveillance footage captured a lone suspect stealing the victim’s refrigerator from their garage. The suspect entered the home by forcing open the garage door. He is described as a male of unknown race, 5’7” tall, 150 pounds, and was wearing a light colored shirt and dark colored pants.

  2. At 2:41 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of West Camino Real Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. The victim discovered unknown suspect(s) smashed the rear sliding glass door, ransacked the residence, and fled. The loss is unknown as of the date of this report.

  3. At 9:32 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of South Santa Anita Avenue and Alta Street regarding a battery investigation. The victim stated the suspect pushed him from behind, for no apparent reason. The suspect, a 43-year-old male from Lomita, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Monday, February 6: 4. At 9:58 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2300 block of Sewanee Lane regarding a residential burglary investigation. Surveillance footage captured the suspects breaking the rear sliding glass door and ransacking the home. The loss has yet to be determined. Both suspects are described as being males and wearing hooded sweatshirts and sweatpants. Tuesday, February 7:

5. At 4:30 a.m., an officer responded to Matt Denny’s Ale House Restaurant, located at 145 East Huntington Drive, regarding an audible alarm activation. Surveillance footage captured a lone suspect forcing open a rear door and searching through the office. The suspect fled quickly without any property. He fled on foot. He is described as a male with a heavy build, wearing all black clothing and a black face mask.


6. At 11:41 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1500 block of Rodeo Road regarding a burglary investigation. A review of the surveillance footage revealed two suspects kicked open the door to the residence and fled empty-handed because the resident had recently moved out. They were carrying flashlights and one was carrying a cross-body bag.


7. At 9:58 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of West Palm Avenue regarding an attempted burglary investigation. The victim stated the suspects were seen in the backyard yard before being scared off. The two suspects were wearing face coverings and hooded jackets. They fled in a white sedan.


Wednesday, February 8: 8. At 2:31 p.m., officers responded to Wing Hop Fung, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. It was determined unknown suspect(s) accessed the roof of the building and cut a hole to access the liquor storage of the restaurant. The suspect(s) fled with an undetermined amount of alcohol.

Thursday, February 9: 9. At 6:00 p.m., an officer responded to CVS Pharmacy, located at 1401 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding an attempted robbery investigation. The victim stated the suspect grabbed her and attempted to steal her purse while she was entering her car. She was able to hold onto her purse during the robbery attempt. The suspect fled in an awaiting black sedan vehicle. He is described as a Hispanic male wearing a bomber jacket.

Friday, February 10:

10. At 7:25 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of South Third Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. Sometime between 12:20 p.m. and 6:50 p.m. on Friday, February 10th, someone broke into the victim’s attached garage and then entered the home. The suspect(s) ransacked the home and fled with an undetermined amount of property. It appears that the suspect(s) entered by opening a side window and removing the screen.


11. At 8:06 p.m., an officer responded to CVS Pharmacy, located at 9952 Las Tunas Drive, regarding a robbery investigation. The suspects stole property from the store. When the employee confronted them, one of the suspects pushed and punched the employee and fled with the stolen item. The suspects are described as two Hispanic females and a Hispanic male.

Saturday, February 11:

12. At 1:51 a.m., an officer responded to Mitry Pharmacy, located at 145 East Duarte Road, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. Surveillance footage captured four suspects as they smashed the front glass window and ransacked the location. They fled in a silver sedan. They were all wearing hooded jackets and had their faces covered.


13. At 4:55 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of West Norman Avenue, regarding a burglary investigation. Sometime during the previous night, someone shattered the rear glass door and ransacked the home. They fled with suit cases and wallets.
