Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report -January 29th through February 4th, 2023

For the period of Sunday, January 29th through Saturday, February 4th, the Police Department responded to 862 calls for service, of which 116 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, January 29:
At 12:46 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1300 block of Oaklawn Road regarding a burglary investigation. The suspect(s) forced open a bedroom window, ransacked the home, and fled with jewelry. The victim noticed the suspects forced open the electrical panel box.
At 7:48 p.m., an officer responded to Dave and Buster’s, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a battery investigation. The victims and suspects engaged in an argument which led to two of the victims being assaulted. One of the suspects is described as a Hispanic male with a thin build. The second suspect is described as a male in his 30s, approximately 5’8” tall. Arcadia Fire responded to render aid.
Monday, January 30:
3. At 10:14 a.m., an officer responded to Shinratech, located at 11901 Goldring Road, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. The business owner discovered the suspect(s) cut a whole in the perimeter fence, smashed a window, and stole electronics from the business.
4. At 10:32 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of South Santa Anita Avenue regarding a stolen vehicle investigation. Surveillance footage captured a lone suspect using a tool to open the victim’s car door and start the 2000 Honda Accord. The suspect is described as a male approximately 6’ tall and 200 pounds.
Tuesday, January 31:
5. At 1:38 p.m., an officer responded to the 200 block of San Antonio Road regarding a theft from vehicle investigation. The victim’s leaf blower was stolen from his truck bed by a Hispanic male driving a dark blue Mercedes SUV.
6. At 1:36 p.m., an officer responded to Angeles National Forest Headquarters, located at 701 North Santa Anita Avenue, regarding a burglary investigation. An unknown suspect cut the barbwire attached to the perimeter wall, pried open a storage area, and fled with various tools.
Wednesday, February 1:
7. At 2:17 p.m., an officer responded to Western Supreme Rooter, located at 136 East Santa Clara Street, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. Surveillance footage captured two suspects cut the lock to a garage door but failed to open it. No loss was reported.
Thursday, February 2:
8. At 10:42 p.m., an officer responded to The Shops at Santa Anita, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a robbery investigation. The suspect approached the victims, displayed a knife, and demanded their belongings. The suspect fled on foot through the mall parking lot. He is described as Hispanic or Black, approximately 5’6” tall, with a slim build, and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The loss is a cellphone and a laptop.
Friday, February 3:
9. At 2:37 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1200 block of Rancho Road regarding a burglary investigation. Unknown suspect(s) entered the home by smashing a rear glass door, ransacked the location, and fled with bottles of alcohol.
Saturday, February 4:
10. At 8:09 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of South Fifth Avenue regarding a residential burglary investigation. Unidentified suspect(s) unlocked a rear window and fled with various hand tools. The victim stated someone returned two nights later to burglarize the location again.
11. At 6:36 p.m., an officer responded to the 300 block of West Huntington Drive regarding a battery investigation. The victim stated he was walking on the sidewalk when the suspect approached him and punched him in the face for no reason. The suspect was identified as a 53-year-old male transient. Detectives are conducting a follow-up investigation to arrest the suspect.
