Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report For the period of Sunday, April 22nd, through Satur

For the period of Sunday, April 22nd, through Saturday, April 28th, the Police Department responded to 962 calls for service, of which 97 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, April 22:
Just after 3:30 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of Arcadia Avenue regarding a domestic dispute. An investigation revealed the male suspect became enraged when he suspected the mother of his children had been texting another man. He pushed her down by her neck and broke her cellphone. The suspect also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. An Emergency Protective Order was issued and the 29- year-old male from El Monte was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., officers responded to Par 3 Golf Course, 620 East Live Oak Avenue regarding a battery that had just occurred. The victim stated that he was engaged in an argument with the suspect when the suspect hit his head several times with a three foot long tree branch. The investigation is ongoing.
Monday, April 23:
3. Just after midnight, officers were dispatched to the 12,000 block of Lower Azusa Road regarding the report of a solo vehicle traffic collision with a tree. Officers located the severely damaged Chevrolet Astro Van and discovered the male driver and male passenger were trapped inside. They were extracted by Arcadia Fire Department personnel. The cause of the collision is being investigated by The Arcadia PoliceDepartment’s Major Accident Investigation Team.
4. Just after 12:30 a.m., officers were patrolling a construction site in the 800 block of West Huntington Drive when they observed a male subject leaving the site. A consensual search of the subject led to the discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The 28-year-old male from Pasadena was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Tuesday, April 24:
Just before 7:30 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1300 block of Standish Place regarding the report of a burglary. An investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) entered the residence through an unlocked rear window. The suspect(s) entered the attached garage, stole three woodworking saws and fled the scene undetected. The victims were home at the time but did not see or hear the suspects.
Just after 10:00 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of West Huntington Drive regarding the report of an unresponsive female in a pool. Officers retrieved the female from the pool and the Arcadia Fire Department began performing lifesaving procedures. The female was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The investigation is ongoing.
Wednesday, April 25:
At about 3:00 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 800 block of Kingsley Drive regarding the report of a burglary. An investigation revealed, a newer model silver four door sedan with paper plates was seen parked to the front of the residence when two male suspects, wearing black hooded sweatshirts, exited the passenger side of the car and jumped the fence to the east side of the property. They removed a screen from an open rear window, entered the residence and stole two handbags and several watches before fleeing the scene.
Just after 4:00 p.m., an officer responded to the 1000 block of Singingwood Drive regarding the report of a suspicious vehicle in the area. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and contacted the occupants. The driver was discovered to be driving with a suspended license and he provided the officer with registration for a different vehicle. An investigation revealed the occupants were in possession of high powered magnets, wire cutters and a booster bag. Several pairs of jeans and other merchandise with tags still attached were also found inside the vehicle. The 36-year-old male from Alhambra and the 33-year-old male from Monterey Park were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Thursday, April 26:
9. At about 7:40 p.m., an officer was patrolling the area of Oakwood Drive and Sycamore Avenue when he noticed a vehicle with tinted windows and paper plates stop past the limit line at the intersection. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and discovered that the occupants were in possession of burglary tools, drug paraphernalia and several stolen credit cards. One subject had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. The vehicle was impounded and the 34-year-old male and 31-year-old female, both from Lake Havasu, Arizona, along with the 38-year-old male from Arcadia, were all arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
10. Just after 8:00 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of Sunset Boulevard regarding a domestic dispute. A mother was concerned for her son who was extremely intoxicated. He fell on the kitchen floor and requested paramedics to respond before he left the house. He was located outside and Arcadia Fire Department personnel responded to evaluate him. The officer determined he was unable to care for himself. The 21-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Friday, April 27:
Just before 8:00 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Colorado Place and Colorado Boulevard for making a left turn against a red arrow. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the driver. Through a series of tests, the officer determined the 30-year-old female from Queen Creek, Arizona was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. She was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 8:40 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of East Norman Avenue regarding an audible alarm. The officer discovered a smashed rear glass sliding door. A bedroom had been ransacked, however the victim claimed nothing of value was missing. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
Saturday, April 28:
Just after 1:00 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of West Arthur Avenue regarding a suspicious person wearing a hooded sweatshirt looking over a fence to a rear yard. A suspicious vehicle was parked in the area occupied by a female and child. They were contacted and found to be in possession of stolen property. It was determined the female was waiting for her brother while he committed burglaries. He was contacted through her phone and refused to return to the location. The 43-year-old female from Glendora was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At around 10:30 p.m., officers responded to Chef’s Coffee Shop, 13 East Live Oak Avenue regarding a burglary alarm activation. Officers discovered pry marks on the front door and the cash register drawer on the floor. Surveillance footage showed a suspect entered the location, discovered the register was empty then exited the restaurant. The investigation is ongoing.
