Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Dec 10th - Dec 16th, 2023



For the period of Sunday, December 10th, through Saturday, December 16th, the Police Department responded to 958 calls for service of which 97 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.


Sunday, December 10:

1. At about 3:39 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of South Third Avenue regarding a

domestic violence investigation. The victim reported she had a verbal argument with her

boyfriend. During the argument the suspect struck the victim in the face. The suspect left the

location and attempted to drive away as the victim followed him. The victim attempted to stop the suspect from leaving and grabbed onto the passenger side door as the suspect began to drive away.

The victim held on for a short time, lost her grip and fell to the ground. The suspect drove away and was gone before the officers arrived.


2. At approximately 2:15 p.m., an officer responded to the report of a residential burglary in the 500 block of Coyle Avenue. The officer determined the unknown suspect(s) entered the

residence through an unlocked rear sliding glass door. The suspect(s) ransacked the master

bedroom and an envelope containing cash had been stolen.


3. Officers responded to the area of Huntington Drive and Golden West Avenue at about 7:05

p.m., regarding a hit and run traffic collision. Witnesses to the collision directed officers to the2

suspect vehicle at a nearby convenience store. Officers contacted the driver and detected a

strong odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. Officers conducted a series of field

sobriety tests and determined the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver

was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Hit and Run.


Monday, December 11:

4. At about 1:01 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of North Santa Anita Avenue

regrading a male subject tampering with the ATM. Officers located the subject a short distance away. During the investigation, the subject was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and had an outstanding felony warrant. The subject was arrested.


Tuesday, December 12:

5. An officer responded to a business in the 600 block of West Duarte Road at approximately 10:38 a.m., regarding a commercial burglary investigation. The officer determined sometime overnight the unknown suspect(s) pried open the rear security door and stole the cash register. The business has CCTV and an alarm, however neither were activated at the time of the burglary.


6. At approximately 6:44 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 200 block of North Santa Anita Avenue regarding a commercial burglary. Officers discovered three male subjects were seen running out of the emergency exit doors carrying numerous clothing items. The suspects were seen entering an awaiting older model GMC SUV.


Wednesday, December 13:

7. At about 5:41 a.m., officers responded to a burglary alarm at a business located in the 100 block of Las Tunas Drive. Officers discovered the rear door had been pried open and cash had been taken from the cash register.


8. An officer responded to a residence in the 1300 block of South First Avenue at approximately 10:28 p.m. regarding a burglary investigation. The officer determined unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked window by cutting the screen. Once inside the suspect(s) stole high end handbags and Chinese currency. The location has CCTV cameras, however none of them cover the area where this occurred.


Thursday, December 14:

9. At approximately 1:25 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon contacting the driver, the officer could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver. Through a series of field sobriety tests, the officer determined the driver was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The driver was arrested for DUI and a passenger was arrested for public intoxication.


Friday, December 15:

10. At about 8:02 a.m., an officer responded to the 1200 block of Highland Oaks regarding a theft investigation. The officer determined that a package was delivered on December 13th at

approximately 11:30 a.m. After reviewing CCTV footage, it was discovered it was stolen

approximately 30 minutes later. The suspect is described as a female, Hispanic, approximately 35 years old.


Saturday, December 16:

11. At approximately 12:11 a.m., an officer responded to a residential burglary investigation in the 400 block of San Luis Rey Road. The officer determined the suspect(s) entered the location by prying open a window. The suspect(s) stole several high end hand bags. The location has CCTV, but the memory card was full, therefore no video was recorded. The location also has an alarm system, however it was not turned on when the resident left earlier in the day.
