Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report- August 28th, through Saturday September 3rd

For the period of Sunday, August 28th, through Saturday, September 3rd, the Police Department responded to 1,022 calls for service of which 166 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, August 28:
Just after 7:36 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 700 block of West Lemon Avenue regarding a package theft report. The officer discovered an unknown suspect stole the victim’s package from her porch sometime between August 25th and the 26th. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
Around 10:22 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 2500 block of Greenfield Avenue regarding a disturbance report. Officers determined three unknown suspects threatened the victim via text message before arriving at the victim’s house. The suspects were gone upon the officers’ arrival. The investigation is ongoing.
Monday, August 29:
3. At about 1:37 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of Sunset Boulevard regarding a vandalism report. An investigation revealed a 30-year-old male from Arcadia smashed the windows of three vehicles after engaging in a physical altercation with his girlfriend. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Just before 8:30 a.m., an officer responded to the 900 block of Kingsley Drive regarding a vehicle burglary report. The officer discovered an unknown suspect stole the victim’s third row seat from their 2014 Chevrolet Suburban sometime during the previous night. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
At approximately 3:13 a.m., officers responded to Go Gadget Repairs, 918 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a burglary in progress. Surveillance footage revealed two male suspects smashed the front window, stole an unknown amount of property, and fled in an unknown direction. The investigation is ongoing.
Suspect #1 is described as a dark skinned male, possibly Pacific Islander, approximately 6’3”, thin build, and wearing a hooded sweatshirt. The second suspect is described as a black male, 5’9”, 20 to 25-years-old, with a large build.
Tuesday, August 30:
Around 9:09 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1300 block of Glencoe Drive regarding a fraud report. The victim’s husband received text message alerts that fraudulent transactions had occurred on his credit card by an unknown suspect in Florida. The victim does not know who the suspect is. The investigation is ongoing.
Just after 8:42 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of West Duarte Road regarding a disturbance report. Officers discovered an adult son grabbed his mother during an argument. The 31-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Wednesday, August 31:
Shortly after 11:27 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Volante Drive regarding a mail theft/tampering report. An investigation revealed an unknown suspect damaged the mail box lock and possibly stole the victim’s mail. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
At about 6:02 p.m., an officer responded to Savers, 16 East Live Oak Avenue, regarding a robbery report. The officer determined a male suspect reached through an open window of the victim’s vehicle and grabbed her purse. The victim held onto her purse but the suspect overpowered her and fled with her property.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male; approximately 6’ tall, small build, driving a gray Mazda. The investigation is ongoing.
Thursday, September 1:
At approximately 4:54 p.m., an officer responded to Burlington Coat Factory, 1201 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a burglary report. A loss prevention specialist witnessed two suspects conceal numerous items in a shopping bag before exiting the store, failing to make payment. The suspects then locked the items in a Nissan Altima and fled on foot. A records check of the vehicle revealed it had been stolen out of La Verne. The suspects are believed to be a 33-year-old male from Ontario who is on probation for narcotics and on parole for assault with a firearm and a 22-year-old male from Rancho Cucamonga. The investigation is ongoing and the suspects are outstanding at the time of this report.
Around 8:32 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of South First Avenue regarding a burglary report. Officers discovered unknown suspects broke a rear window, ransacked the location, and fled undetected. It is unknown if any property was stolen. The investigation is ongoing.
Friday, September 2:
At about 6:24 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2200 block of South Fifth Avenue regarding a robbery report. The victim stated she encountered an unknown Hispanic male in her house who proceeded to punch her three times in the face before stealing her purse and fleeing on foot.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’7”, with a medium build. The investigation is ongoing.
Just after 3:45 p.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter regarding a grand theft report from Sephora, 400 South Baldwin Avenue. Surveillance footage revealed two male suspects stole nearly 26 bottles of perfume, a loss valued at $2,936.00. The investigation is ongoing.
Saturday, September 3:
14. Just after 8:14 a.m., an officer responded to Arcadia Supermarket, 645 West Duarte Road, regarding a commercial burglary report. Surveillance footage revealed two male suspects smashed the front glass door of the business and stole $300 from a secure cabinet. The investigation is ongoing.
