Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report -Sunday, July 23rd through Saturday, July 29th


For the period of Sunday, July 23rd through Saturday, July 29th, the Police Department responded to 1,063 calls for service, of which 118 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period. Sunday, July 23:

  1. At 12:37 p.m., an officer responded to 24 Hour Fitness, located at 125 North First Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. Sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., someone entered the men’s locker room, cut the victim’s lock, and stole his wallet and personal items from the locker.

  2. At 7:19 p.m., an officer responded to Takashima, located at 1130 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. The clerk stated she was distracted by one of the suspects while another suspect stole cash from an unsecured back room. The suspects are described as two Hispanic males, between the ages of 25 and 30-years-old, both approximately 170 pounds and 5’7” tall. They fled with cash.

  3. At 8:57 p.m., an officer responded to Albertson’s, located at 298 East Live Oak Avenue, regarding a battery investigation. The officer determined the suspect, a 48-year-old male transient from El Monte, pushed a shopping cart into a grocery store employee’s leg. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


Monday, July 24: 4. At 10:18 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 900 block of Fallen Leaf Road regarding the investigation of an attempted burglary. Surveillance footage, along with the victim’s statement, indicated two suspects knocked on the front door, and then proceeded to enter the backyard. The resident was able to scare them off. The suspects are described as males, one with a thin build and the other with a medium build. They were both wearing hooded sweatshirts. Tuesday, July 25:

5. At 9:06 a.m., an officer responded to a residence under construction in the 300 block of West Longden Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. Sometime during the previous night, someone entered the secured site and fled with construction tools and equipment.


6. At 6:08 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of West Lemon Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. The officer discovered someone entered the home through an open window and ransacked the residence. The suspects fled with cash and jewelry.


Wednesday, July 26:

7. At 12:00 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2500 block of Florence Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. The officer determined unidentified suspect(s) smashed a sliding glass door and stole jewelry and cash.


8. At 8:41 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of West Lemon Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. The officer discovered someone removed a window from the residence and ransacked the home. The suspect(s) fled with paperwork.


Thursday, July 27: 9. At 7:16 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 500 block of Gloria Road regarding a burglary investigation. Sometime between 6:00 p.m. and 7:10 p.m. on July 27th, someone had shattered a glass door and fled with jewelry and watches.

Friday, July 28:

10. At 4:19 p.m., an officer responded to the former location of Souplantation at 301 East Huntington Drive regarding a commercial burglary investigation. The reporting party discovered someone had forced open the locked building and stolen an electrical panel.


11. At 7:31 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of East Colorado Boulevard regarding a burglary investigation. Sometime between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on July 28th, unidentified suspect(s) forced open a window and ransacked the home. The loss is unknown.
