Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report -12/24/2023 to 12/30/2023


For the period of Sunday, December 24th, through Saturday, December 30th, the Police Department responded to 852 calls for service of which 74 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.

Sunday, December 24:

1. At 3:36 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of East Sycamore Avenue

regarding a burglary report. Unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the home by smashing a rear glass door. The suspect(s) ransacked the master bedroom and stole purses before fleeing the scene.

2. At 11:27 p.m., officers responded to the 00 block of Fano Street regarding a hit and run traffic collision. The victim returned to his vehicle he left parked on the street and discovered damage to the driver’s side door. An unknown suspect collided with the vehicle and fled the scene without leaving notification.


Monday, December 25:

3. At 1:24 p.m., an officer responded to 24 Hour Fitness, 125 North First Avenue, regarding a grand theft report. The victim stated he was playing basketball at the location 3 days prior when an unknown suspect stole his Apple iPhone from his bag.

4. At 7:50 p.m., officers responded to the area of West Orange Grove Avenue and Santa Anita Avenue regarding a traffic collision that had just occurred. A driver distracted by his cellphone collided with a parked car.


Tuesday, December 26:

5. At 1:36 p.m., officers responded to Macy’s, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a grand theft report . The suspect was seen leaving the location with a suitcase filled with stolen jeans. Officers located the suspect with the stolen merchandise on Old Ranch Road. The 28-year-old male transient was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

6. At 2:56 p.m., an officer responded to Pro Image, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a

vandalism report. An unknown suspect scratched graffiti style writing onto the front window of

the store resulting in $2000 in damage.

7. At 8:38 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 00 block of West Longden Avenue regarding a burglary report. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the home through an unlocked bedroom window. The suspect(s) stole a computer, jewelry, and coins.


Wednesday, December 27:

8. At 12:53 p.m., an officer responded to Goodwill, 1012 North Santa Anita Avenue, regarding a

subject seen shadow boxing in the area. The officer contacted the subject and determined the subject was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. The 40-year-old male transient was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

9. At 6:58 p.m., officers responded to REI, 214 North Santa Anita Avenue, regarding a grand theft report. The suspect, described as a heavyset male wearing a gray sweatshirt with a backpack, stole a tent set and was last seen running toward the Metro Gold Line Station.

Thursday, December 28:

10. At 1:38 a.m., officers patrolling East Live Oak Avenue observed a subject sorting through a

dumpster at Saver’s, 16 East Live Oak Venue. The subject attempted to flee from the officers on his bicycle. Officers contacted the subject and discovered he was in possession of stolen mail and credit cards. The 39-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

11. At 1:14 p.m., officers responded to TEG Design Works, 411 East Huntington Drive, regarding a grand theft report. Two employees left their cellphones on a table and stepped away from the office when the unknown suspect entered the location and stole the phones.

Friday, December 29:

12. At 12:45 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of North Altura Road regarding an elder abuse report. The suspect had an argument with his elderly father and punched him multiple times leaving visible injury to his face. A restraining order was issued and the 56-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.3


Saturday, December 30:

13. At 12:02 a.m., an officer was patrolling the parking lot of Ralph’s, 211 East Foothill Boulevard, when he recognized a male with an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The officer contacted the male and the female he was with, and discovered they were in possession of numerous individually wrapped baggies of methamphetamine and fentanyl. The 24-year-old female from Temple City and the 22-year-old male from Duarte were both arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

14. At 11:17 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Old Ranch Road regarding the report of an attempted burglary. Two male suspects wearing yellow construction vests were seen attempting to open a bedroom window. The suspects shattered the bedroom window before fleeing the scene. The suspect vehicle was described as a silver Kia Forte with no front license plate.

15. At 10:58 p.m., officers responded to the area of Fairview Avenue and La Cadena Avenue

regarding six suspects wearing hooded sweatshirts attempting to steal a vehicle. Officers located the suspects who had smashed the window of the vehicle. They were found to be in possession of screwdrivers, latex gloves, and altered USB cables. All six suspects were juveniles ages 14 to 17-years-old. The suspects were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking before being released to their parents and guardians.
