Mayor’s Proclamation: October 8–14, 2017 is Fire Prevention Week
At the October 3rd City Council Meeting, Mayor Peter Amundson proclaimed October 8-14, 2017 as Fire Prevention Week by presenting Fire Chief Mike Lang and Fire Marshal Mark Krikorian a certificate with this year’s campaign, “Every Second Counts: Plan 2 Ways Out!”
The proclamation serves as a reminder of the City’s commitment to ensure fire safety to the community. As Mayor Amundson noted, even though we have a great Class 1 Fire Department, we need to do our part by being aware and practicing fire prevention and fire safety in our homes and businesses. Additionally, Fire Marshal Krikorian reinforced the importance of having an escape plan and practicing it. Fire Marshal Krikorian also mentioned if a member of the community would like additional fire prevention information, they may contact the Fire Prevention Bureau at (626) 574-5104 or refer to the Fire Department’s webpage at www.ArcadiaCa.gov.
