Sunday, June 19th
At 8:19 p.m., Engine 105 and Monrovia Squad 101 responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of South Second Avenue and East Los Flores Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel discovered a 60-year-old female experiencing chest pains. Paramedics assessed the patient and performed advanced life support measures on scene. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Monday, June 20th
At 4:31 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 600 block of West Duarte Road. Fire crews arrived to find a 59-year-old female complaining of shortness of breath. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including 12-lead electrocardiogram, intravenous access, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Tuesday, June 21st
At 12:42 a.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 00 block of Fano Street. Upon arrival, fire personnel found an 80-year-old female complaining of a syncopal episode. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including 12-lead electrocardiogram, intravenous access, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Wednesday, June 22nd
At 4:36 p.m., Truck 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist on the westbound 210 freeway. Upon arrival, fire crews found a 61-year-old male complaining of shortness of breath and heart dysrhythmias. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including intravenous access, 12-lead electrocardiogram, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Thursday, June 23rd
At 1:15 p.m., Engine 105 responded to a downed power line in the 2300 block of Ivyland Avenue. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a downed electrical transmission line between two power poles. Fire personnel secured the area until the arrival of Southern California Edison representatives and released the scene to them.
Friday, June 24th
At 3:01 p.m., Engine 105 responded to a vegetation fire in the 00 block of East Huntington Drive. Fire crews found a section in the center divider containing burnt mulch that had been extinguished prior to their arrival. Fire personnel utilized a pressurized water extinguisher and hand tools to overhaul the area and ensure the fire was out.
Saturday, June 25th
At 1:33 p.m., Engine 105, Engine 106, Engine 107, Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, Battalion 105, and Pasadena Truck 32 responded to a report of smoke in a structure in the 200 block of West Huntington Drive. Fire crews arrived on scene to find smoke coming from fire in a small upstairs room. The fire had been extinguished by fire sprinklers. Fire crews ensured the fire was out, restored the fire sprinkler system, and removed water from the location.
Volunteer Weekly Activity Report
During the reporting period, the Arcadia Fire Department had a total of 80 hours of volunteer activities. Specifically, volunteers from the community donated their time to assist the Department with administrative, fire prevention, and miscellaneous duties.
Training
During the reporting period, the Arcadia Fire Department conducted a total of 285 hours of training. Some of the subjects covered were: Hose Evolutions, Ladder Evolutions, Ventilation Techniques, Salvage and Overhaul Techniques, Tiller Certification, Defensive Driving, Engine Company Equipment, Search and Rescue, Communications, EOC Operations, Records Management, Fire Suppression Tactics, Power Tools, Hand Tools, Truck Operations, Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic Continuing Education, Hazardous Materials, Lighting Operations, Rope Rescue, Incident Command, Pre-Incident Planning, Supervision and Management, and Standard Operating Guideline Review.
